Something’s up at J.C. Penney.

After the closing bell, the department-store operator announced President Michael Francis was leaving, effective today, after only eight months on the job.

Shares dropped 6.5% in after-hours trading to $22.75 in after-hours trading. The stock is down nearly 50% since early February.

You’re right. “Rainbow” colored are(were?) available at JC Penney’s. “Tall” are available online and at “Big and Tall” Shops —— Check your Yellow Pages for their locations.
I guess I won’t see you at the Costco Men’s underware aisle.

I buy lots of stuff at Costco, including some clothes that aren’t affected by height.

Once a person visits CostCo, they never go back to Sam’s Club if a CostCo is within 50 miles.

Most of my clothes were purchased at JCP prior to their poor advertising decisions. Very good quality and very reasonable prices. Now that the CEO has been fired, maybe I can go back.

“I can’t believe people stopped shopping there because of some ads.”

I can. Not always as an individual decision, but as it’s put out over Christian/conservative media. I do believe it makes a difference.

Back to Walmart for me where they sell guns, books about God and the workers are happy even though the democrats tell them they should not be.

I talked with a young man in the Walmart in Williston, ND last night. He's happy to be here, working as a night stocker for $16 an hour, 60-80 hour week, company provided housing, and saving to get his CDL... He's got a plan, and is thrilled to be working on it after a couple of years of being unemployed...

I think it’s a combination, with some stopping because of the new pricing strategy and others because of the social agenda being pushed.

Personally, I think alienating any potential shopper in this economic environment where every dime counts is stupid. But then, what do I know? Unlike JCP’s CEO, I’m not walking around with a Harvard MBA.

Had NOTHING to do with Ellen, but is all about their ridiculous new pricing structure. Everything.

I can’t believe people stopped shopping there because of some ads.

I sure do hope that this is exactly what happened, and that tens of thousands voted with their feet... right over to other retailers.

I for one am sick of the attempted normalization of abject sexual depravity and its associated mental illnesses. It was the main factor in the decision to cut off the cable TV a few years ago. I finally had had enough of the incessant infiltration of the homo agenda into what should be harmless, non-propagandized programming (cooking, home remodeling, DIY repairs et al). Couldn't even flip channels without passing by numerous perversions. I pushed the Sodomites off the TV along with the rest of the filth.

If nothing else, I would hazard a guess that someone so intent on defiling the traditional image of a company like J.C. Penney probably has emotional issues not conducive to making good business decisions on the whole.

Another store I believe may be republican (though unlike what I’ve heard about Walmart(R), Target(D), Dunkin Donuts(R), Starbucks(D)) I’ve never heard anything that suggests it’s a favorite of any particular political persuasion)

Family Dollar - they appear to be conservative republican friendly.

They are BIG on Easter, Christmas and follow every American holiday. They carry patriotic merchandise all year round (you would think it’s always the 4th of July there) but check out their books sometime. Christian books, inspirational, Holy Bibles and even conservative writers. I think after you see their selection of books you will conclude they are NOT a secular store like Targets and Starbucks.

That one was fairly non-risky—I would’ve assumed that the woman with what looks like white hair was the grandmother.

I told my mother the other day about the ads; she has decided to spend her money elsewhere.

In this depression it is easier than ever to avoid large stores for shopping; I’ve been trying for years (due to affirmative action policies), and it isn’t impossible. My area is being settled by “replacement Americans”, and they bring their own businesses with them (supermarkets and such). Between buying items online, or using bargain basements and such, it is easy to buy many things without supporting these establishments. Not everything, but a lot...and we have a family instead of two deviants and a foreign child they bought.

I think that their new pricing policy has been a calamity, and this guy is the sacrifice.

Please explain. I haven't been to Penny's in several months. Not out of outrage. We moved and there isn't one close by. Used to shop there all the time. Wife and I both like their clothes.

What happened to their prices? I remember that often the clothes my wife would buy off the clearance rack rang up for less than they were marked.

They switched from having advertised sales and coupons to “everyday low prices.”

They still have some kind of sales scheme tho. I think a month-long value and one other.

I also understand that they’ve phased out some of their previous staples that appealed to the more middle-age + crowd in favor of a younger, trendier demographic.

So it’s just been an unmitigated disaster for them. There’s hardly anyone they haven’t managed to alienate with their makeover.

this wasn’t just a momentary lapse of judgement or a miscalculation, it was death sentence. The JCP brand does not make it 12 months from today. Walmart and Target have lapped them while they were trying to pander to a demographic that will never justify the effort.

I also don't see them recovering from this. Hopefully their example will serve to prevent other stores from similar effrontery.
