Female submariners are fitting right in.
Since reporting to their boats in November, 25 women who broke one of the Navy's final gender barriers have gone on patrol and been accepted among their crews.
"The men adjusted to us being there, and we adjusted to them," said Lt. j.g. Megan Bittner of the USS Ohio gold crew. "It was quick. There were no big problems. No stumbling blocks along the way. It was just learning as a junior officer how you fit on the boat."

Absolutely nothing to celebrate, but rather to rue.
How sad to put women in harm’s way to satisfy a PC agenda from a bunch of female politicians who’d never serve anyway.
A very sad thing.

I can understand a petticoat crew, maybe on a boomer. But what happens on a long term cruise when some rating gets pregnant.
Especially if you’re on a boomer and you can’t just come in off a classified cruise.

"The men adjusted to us being there, and we adjusted to them..."Of course they did. It beats having to wait until shore leave to scratch the itch...

clogged in the ball valves when trying to blow sanitaries overboard. It's even worse on the T-hulls (Tridents). Dirty sanitaries are pumped, not blown. The dirties have dedicated pumps (not the Main Drain Pump),but still.

It must be like this, just one big, happy, PC, socially-engineered crew. ("Girls are what you sleep with after the game...not what you coach during the game.")

Even a boomer doing 3 knots to nowhere will have to break off patrol and bring a pregnant female back to port. Submarines simply aren't equipped to deal with pregnancy and the potential complications thereof. Same reason submariners aren't allowed to go to sea with their wisdom teeth. Not to mention the fact that, IIRC, it is illegal to expose a fetus to occupational radiation.
