Drones will become commonplace in the next several years because 99% of politicians and citizens care zero about privacy.

Im glad to hear it too. Everytime we give the government somemore leeway in the name of security we lose more of ours. Now the the HLS is entrenched we will never get rid of them or gain control of them because one government gets what they7 want they never give it up.

Another good bill destined to be buried in committee, as it does not forward the totalitarian agenda of unelected liberal bureaucrats!

ACLU and Libs (redundant, I know) made a huge stink about Bush admin wire tap (phone conversation with known overseas terrorists). After investigation, it showed there were no ‘overreach’ by Bush Co.
Now, you don't even hear this, drone surveillance of private citizens here in the States. Did it start under Bush? Or this is another one of those ‘flexible interpretation’ of the Patriot Act by the Obama admin?
/Did I mention how much I loath those tools?

Ok, so I'm a little perplexed here. What is different than using satellite imagery? Or using aerial photography from a small piloted plane. Both are currently being done, I'm wondering why a plane WITHOUT a pilot (drone) would be any different than a plane with a pilot.

Disinformation. Like your fellow countrymen, keep your head in the sand, if you wish.
Meanwhile private industry, the FAA, the military and law enforcement are all scrambling to open the skies to drones and utilize them for numerous purposes.

Disinformation, meaning citizens don’t care about their privacy.
As long as we allow corporatist fascism to be our government, we will continue to be subjects without any power over our won lives.

Yes, very impressive career and life in Panama. If Obama wins in November, there might be a lot of new expats heading in that direction.

Yep. Here in Texas, in
Montgomery County, when the sheriff's department spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on a drone, I didn't hear too many people complaining or wanting to kick anybody out of office. And Montgomery County was supposedly conservative. You can't go travel to a decent-sized city in Texas without encountering either state or local cameras. The past 10 years or so have shown me that we are going to slip quietly into a police state, because we've been electing the same people over and over, and we are letting them put up cameras everywhere.

It's all available on line -
they plan 3,000 plus of these drones - that's an ave of 60 per state = from full size to hummingbird size...they can see' far closer, can actually 'look' into your windows. p>It's the difference between reading lasses and a large magnifying glass - or better...and at 3,000 plus - they can cover every square inch of this country just about daily.
Right now, they are concentrating on farmers - as people are waking up to the Franenfoods being pumped out by factory farms and turning to organic and/or naturally grown foods - coupled with the goal of Monsanto and their hitched at thip gov't lackeys to control the worlds' food ("He who controls he food, controls the people" - both the money and the control are starting to slip away.
The gov' is outlawing raw milk/cheeses - which people have been living on for tens of thousands of years - arresting the farmers and destroying their product.
The drones are now targeting other farmers - like hog farmers, with cover rationale - with the goal in shutting them down - and keeping that money and control.
ETC ETC.
If you see no difference from satellites and small planes to these drones and their real purpose, you must be very busy - and not have had the time to learn about these drones and their intended purpose. (I won't even flesh out what could happen if Martial Law were imposed - with 3,000+ drones - some already armed and others can be quickly - against a citizenry on the ground, armed or not.)
