Didn't have a hill for the skateboards.

But we did have bikes.

Asphalt road, wooden skateboard, metal wheels and a rope.

With the right length of rope and good speed on the bike, if the bike rider would turn into a driveway quick enough, he could give you a little slingshot whipping action.

I used to be a leader in the Jr High ministry at my old church. One of my former kids is now the director of a camp in Montana. They have these things called Mountain Boards.

Oh, to be 30 years younger.

(Or maybe its, Thank God I'm not 30 years younger.)

My buddy told me a story, how he and the wife were out with the kids one Sunday. They were between camp sessions, and so had no campers. So they had the rare family time, during the summer.

They get back to camp, to find that the summer staff, mostly 16-20 year olds, had taken an old sofa from one of the staff cabins, and rigged it up to the side by side zip lines.

Well my buddy is much like me and HAD to try it out.

His wife wasn't going to let him do it...

Without her.

Sanity Responsibility did take hold, and they required that anybody trying it still had to wear a safety harness, and be tied off.

Oh my goodness.....our dirt bikes! You’re bringing back so many memories of my childhood!

Skateboards, dirt bikes and roller skates. Ahhhh, to be young again without so many fears.
