Good lord, friend. You're advocating the standard operating procedures of old, which have done nothing but allow (maybe even cause) the continued erosion of our constitutional system of government, and the unchecked leftward drift of the Republican party.
Have you not noticed there's a rebellion going on, and that the American people are DEMANDING a sharp turn to the right, and voting for candidates who show backbone and the resolve to do that?
Look to the results of the 2010 midterms for guidance, if you need a refresher. If that's too deep in the bowels of ancient history, then look no further than the results of the Wisconsin recall election, or the two anti-union initiatives which just passed in California. If the states are the 'laboratories of democracy', then review all of the many pro-American, pro-family, pro-gun, common sense legislative accomplishments of the conservative right over the last two years.
Conversely, look to all of the recent defeats and collapse on the Democrat side for evidence of what I'm talking about. They're just barely holding their ground in the bluest of blue areas of the country. Just barely. The tide has shifted, and any candidate worth a lick, understands that, and is positioning himself in front of that wave of citizen discontent.
To do otherwise, is to signal to the people that you're committed to maintaining the status quo, and that you've already been compromised by the old guard elites.
Romney is already proving that he's guilty of both.
Don’t the votes this year in the primary mean anything?
