many civic leaders hoped to use the publicity to jumpstart the region's struggling economy, particularly on the U.S. side of the falls. How could this be? Have they mentioned this to Baraq?

I remember the video of his grandfather(?) Karl, falling to his death in Puerto Rico.
No thanks...I dont care to watch this guys death wish.

There will be no death, Vaquero. He will be tethered to a harness - and if he DOES fall, he will climb back up to the tightrope.
The winds at Niagra Falla can be sudden and wicked - so I am glad he will be secured.

Old saying I've heard:
Skill is being able to traverse Niagra Falls on a tightrope.
Intelligence is declining to do it.
Seriously, I hope it goes well.

If this is like every other stunt ever broadcast, don’t bother tuning in until last 15 minutes and skip the 45 minutes of hype.

That Frenchman had a set of balls on him. No safety harness necessary.
Funny thing though - after the WTC walk, he got a job with the circus, performing about forty feet in the air. He fell and broke a few ribs.

“He will be tethered to a HARNESS - and if he DOES fall, he will climb back up to the tightrope.”
Grandpa Wallenda is rolling over in his grave.

Yeah, I'm glad the guy will be safe but if he is going to be tethered to a safety harness, then its not exactly a daredevil stunt. It would be about as exciting as watching my brother-in-law fly a flight simulator on the computer. If he augers into a mountain-top, he can always take a leak, grab another beer and hit the NEW GAME button. Fun for him maybe, but not so much fun for me to watch.
So I hope this guy has fun walking on his tightrope tethered to a harness. I'll be outside mowing my lawn.
To: Ronald_Magnus
He will be tethered to a HARNESS - and if he DOES fall, he will climb back up to the tightrope. The story is that ABC required him to be tethered so they could promise the audience that he wouldn't die on camera.
Took all the fun out.
