I saw the response, and it's most appropriate (though many probably aren't old enough to connect with the names, Koufax and Drysdale).
I've used the 'team jersey' analogy many times myself, and still think it's dead on. Romney's got a record that any liberal Democrat would be proud of. In fact, he pushed through more liberal policies in Massachusetts than most Democrats would have dared.
Those who are familiar with Sun Tzu's work, Art of War, understand why that worked. If you want your enemy to stand down and go to sleep, simply infiltrate his camp with someone who champions their cause, while implementing your plans.
