Hey bramps, did NE Cons call you last night and tell you to double-down on the Romney apologetics? Just wondering, since he got booted out of FreeRepublic last night. I have to say though, you’re not doing much better than he was.
But I did answer your question as asked also.
Thank you much for a very classy reply. After some of the names I've been called on this site for sticking to my guns, I truly do appreciate it.
I absolutely agree with you that Obama must go. However, as a social conservative I can't and won't support Romney because he's an abortionist and a gun-grabbing, big government liberal. End of story. So, my question becomes, what do I do? Not voting is not an option. I'll vote for conservatives, and conservatives ONLY, up and down my ballot.
I reject out of hand the notion that I'm voting for Obama because I won't surrender to the Romney wing. I'm voting for a conservative because conservatism matters more to me than an "R" by the candidate's name. I also reject the idea that ABOs can try to define my vote but refuse to define theirs.
I call them "NBRs" -- for Nobody But Romney. If they were truly "ABOs", they'd use their conservative creds to get behind a conservative candidate and urge others to do the same. The Republicans deserve to be the third party for giving us Romney at such a crucial time in our history.
Have a great day.
How about how about how about how about........bramps you could go on forever saying: what about this, how about that.....
Bottom line because people caved and voted for non-conservatives in the past we now have Romney (probably) as the nominee.
A stand must be taken, and the time is now.
Myself and many others have said no more - no more pretend conservatives, no more liberal republicans.
I will not vote for liberals - period.
My kids are strong, my kids are smart we see the conservative island, sorry you and yours do not.
“Its not complicated. Your ethics come with a caveat. You are willing to set them aside if the price is right.” Do you believe four more years of little barry bastard commie will collapse the American economy, ecimate the American military capabilities, further widen the gulf of religious sects (read Islam ont he rise with protection from the bastrd-in-chief), and result in thousands of more government ‘workers’ being paid with borrowed dollars?
I agree with you
I WILL BE VOTING - but I will not be voting for Romney (unless he picks Gingrich for VP)
Otherwise I will vote straight GOP across the board, so that we have a GOP congress, but I will be writing in Palin/Ginrigh for the top 2 spots.

Not even if he picks Palin. No.
Reagan?
HW Bush explained in a tearful interview the moment he changed his heart in the matter of abortion.
Romney has said “I have always been pro-life” and “I am more pro-choice the Kennedy” and “I will protect a woman’s right to choose” and “I can’t go against the law” and “I will give the women of MA free and low cost abortions” and “(well you get the picture) the man has no core, he says what he needs to say. To say he doesn’t support abortion is just blind.
Before you do that, check your state's laws on write-in candidates. I've been told that in some states, if your write-in vote is not eligible to receive a vote, your entire ballot may be invalidated.
Palin as a write-in is a great protest, but if it invalidates your vote for declared conservative candidates, it's not worth it.
On June 14, 1967, Ronald Reagan signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act, after only six months as California governor. From a total of 518 legal abortions in California in 1967, the number of abortions would soar to an annual average of 100,000 in the remaining years of Reagans two terms.
In 1981, Reagan said it was his darkest hour signing that bill, there where unintended results beyond what he had imagined as therapeutic.
Reagan told a joint session of Congress in his 1986 State of the Union. America will never be whole as long as the right to life granted by our Creator is denied to the unborn.
Reagan was pro-life. It is left leaning person who insist he is pro-abortion.
Romney, on the other hand has made no such repudiation and has essentially lied about Reagan claiming that Reagan was adamantly pro choice.
I understand your sentiment and do NOT disagree- I think we need to FORCE Romney to work for it as hard as possible
Starting by picking a solid conservative - seeing (and especially HEARING) Gingrich for the next 6 months would be GREAT HELP for the GOP in this election.
If we can’t have Gingrish for Pres. then I want to have MAJOR FOCUS on him and his speaches for the next 6 months
Is it just now occurring to you that We The People should be voting for 'the morality of God'? Are you convinced that all your votes have been 'for the morality of God' in the past?
If I had to guess over which of the two who can be elected president is more likely to be effected by the prayers of We The People, I would guess it is Milt, but there is always the possibility that God will grab the heart of little barry bastard commie and turn him ... but it is less likely with a drug addled probable bi sexual than it is with a non-drug using, monogamous man. Would it be out of line to ask you to compare Obama and Romney to Jacob? ... Which twister is more like Jacob, Milt or Barry?
If one limited their vote to ONLY politicians completely 'in the morality of God', that person would probably never be voting. You have every right to vote as you please in America, thus far, but to try and stamp those who vote based upon the political perspectives as being 'outside of God's morality' is, at least to my opinion, a bit hypocritical --falling for a strategy of the accuser of the brethren-- since not one single politician now or later is likely to be standing only in 'God's morality'. Perhaps you know of one who is such a politician. In that case, please share that information.
Yep.
Reagan said it was his darkest hour.
I get so tired of “so called” conservatives claiming Reagan flipped on abortion - he did not.
Romney is and has always been pro-abortion. Ann Romney is pro-abortion. Romney’s parents were pro-abortion. Heck maybe the whole Romney clan is.
When Romney talks about abortion it is a circular argument, but why not when you take five positions on every issue you get to claim what you want.
You really need to read the prophets. Killing babies was the abomination, above all others, that brought judgement on Israel.
Both Mitt and Barry are unacceptable because of their track record of support for baby-killing and other abominations.
What they “might” become isn’t really the issue. The point isn’t to grow the right candidate while he’s in office. The point is to settle on a candidate being acceptable prior to assuming office.
And all who seem to be willing to despise me because I prefer Romney to Obama.
I made the list which got you all so het up for my own personal comfort and information.
I was hoping very much that the people who prefer Obama to Romney were a minority on this board. I’d noticed the same names popping up over and over and I wondered just how many there were.
This is not an enemies list nor something I would share.
It was for me. So relax.
I still think the people who prefer Obama to Romney are a minority.
Please don’t waste time telling me how bad Romney is.
Did any of you see the news today that Obama is planning to grant immunity to young illegals (in the form of work permits)
Did any of you see the story about how political correctness resulted in the death of a lot of servicemen at Fort Hood.
These are just a couple of things that actually happened under Obama.
Don’t even try to tell me that Romney is worse.
If I may, I’d like to suggest you are half right. It is true that no one is perfect. Otherwise we would not need a Savior. However, there have been many good people in political life, and there still are, who do not and have never advanced, as a matter of public policy, legislative, executive, or judicial action in direct defiance to basic principles of divine law.
Unfortunately for Mitt, his history on abortion, gay marriage, even his recent pronouncements on gay adoption, are all indicators he is quite capable of brazenly assaulting God’s morality in his public policy decision-making.
Therefore, while I don’t find anyone perfect either, at least my conscience can find safe harbor in any number of dark horse choices who do respect divine law. I simply cannot put my stamp of approval on anyone who sets themselves up as a competitor to the one true God, either in public policy, or in religious belief, no matter if they promise me all the kingdoms of the earth in exchange for that approval.
