In Case You Don't Like Romney...
Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election
If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, Id just ask you to keep four things in mind:
1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78
2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year
3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August
4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.
Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.
If you dont think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think youre smokin something funky .
So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didnt get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:
'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'
Did that get your attention!
Thank you for admitting you are going to help re-elect Obama.
You’re welcome.
LOL
The voters across the country selected Romney, not some Dark Force in DC.
We lost the primaries. We need to get over it.
We are now left with two possibly choises. A canddiate you ight not like, or the end of America. Which will you help.
The choice is that simple.
Sure, I don't mind commenting. I think the Obama Administration is horrid.
On the other hand, God tells me we cannot kill babies. Romney has supported that the major portion of his political career, and has acted on it in ways that makes him the the most successful abortion governor in the history of this nation.
God says, "Thou shalt not kill (murder)." Romney has ignored that in the past, has recently refused to commit himself to a pro-life pact, and has been opportunistic in so many other things that it would be lying to myself to trust him. So I won't.
Likewise, God says that a man lying with a man (and woman with woman) is an abomination. (Romans 1). In just the last 2 months, Romney came out in support of gay couples and even thinks they have the right to adopt at the state level. He simply does not see that this is to the wholeness of our culture what termites are to a house, what welfare deadbeats are to fiscal soundness.
For me, it is simple. I support God's way, or I support man's way.
Let God be true and every man a liar. I would far rather put myself into His care for the future, follow His instructions, and ride the roller coaster that He will bring upon this nation.
So just who is the Ross Perot in this race that’s going to get any amount of meaningful votes?
Also, let’s see what happens when we all follow your ‘noble’ logic:
We all make our personal stands. We vote for or even write in our perfect candidate (AND LET’S NOT WAIT! LET’S DO IT THIS ELECTION) for every possible position. For a fact, do you know what we’d have in 2013? NOT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN ELECTED! Every single Republican running has something in their past that some voter could consider of the ‘devil’. (I wanted Herman Cain, then Newt. You don’t think I could’ve used your logic to eliminate them as men I could vote for based on things in their past?)So not one single Republican would get enough votes to beat their democratic opponent. Great!/S. We’d be left with 100% democrats, most of them actually Marxists or worse. But let’s do it. That’ll show’em,huh?
So? New folks aren’t allowed? What’s your point? Can’t refute my comments so you folks resort to this? Wow. How mature

“New folks” are welcome.
Why thank you very much
I suppose that's what you consider attempting to change someone's mind?
They have already told you they are not supporting either liberal, and the record makes it clear that both are life-long radical liberals.
To principled conservatives, your argument doesn't hold water.
I have yet to see a single decent reason for a principled conservative to violate principle just to elect a different radical liberal. As one person suggested, it's like preferring gorbachev to yeltsin. Whoop.
Those are wise words.
Too many FReepers these days are saying “I’m afraid we can’t survive another 4 years of 0bama”, and “we MUST vote for Romney or ELSE!”, ad nauseum and all that tells me is:
a.) such posters have NO faith in their fellow Americans, nor in their Country. 0bama is just one more Communist dirtbag with a large supporting cast. He is NOT more powerful nor greater than America as a whole.
b.) those same posters are willing to trade one dirtbag for another, one pro-homosexual, pro-abortion, anti-gun advocate for another.
In 1968, Governor George Wallace of Alabama, who ran on the American Independent Party ticket (capturing the largest number of States by an independent at any time in the 20th century) said “there is not a dime’s worth of difference between the Democrat and Republican Parties” and while that assertion was arguable at the time, it was indeed prophetic as we witness the circus of the UniParty dancing before us, one from the ‘Rat Column (Far Left), one from the ‘Repugnant’ Column (Liberal), grinning in greasepaint, actually suggesting that there IS a “dime’s worth of difference”.
0bama is a Communist. His influences throughout his life have come from Communists, the far left, and the gamut of America-hating radicals, and Mitt Romney may not be a Communist, but he is definitely a *socialist*, someone who believes in the expansion of federal power, he is the quintessential big government ‘Rockefeller Liberal’, and his actions speak for themselves, while his words are so dynamic they are capable of changing from day to day, even hour to hour, and the bedrock of his beliefs (whatever they are) are built upon quicksand.
Caveat Emptor. Those words never applied so much as they do to Mitt Romney. Would he be better than 0bama?
Probably. In the same way that a little dog with rabies would pose a slightly lesser risk than a BIG dog with rabies. But BOTH dogs remain rabid, and if they bite you, you’re going to get infected, and it’s not gonna be pretty.
So choose your mutts.
I don't trust Romney, I never supported him, although I do think claims on FR of his record being the same radical leftist as Bambi are fallacious and way overstated.
I do know that Bambi has the most anti-Christian, anti-American, anti-freedom, anti-free market administration that I have ever known about. They are pure destruction. I wake up every day to a new outrage asking "how long oh Lord".
As to Mitt, he's not going to have any where near that animus, nowhere near the kind of horrid personnel in his administration, you know, the ones who hate America and viciously use the presidency to maintain power and their Marxist goals.
I've always respected your posts, but in this matter will disagree, I think it's a no brainer and am joining Palin, Cain, Newt, Santorum and a host of others that agree with my tagline.
********************************
I would have voted for almost any of the other candidates if they had become the Republican nominee. But Romney? He's not a conservative. He's not even a moderate.
It took everything I had to vote for McCain in 2008. I can't do it again, not with the man who gave us Romneycare, the blueprint for Obamacare.
Agreed.
Here's another fact. I'm not voting for any leftist puke. mitt and the won are both globalist, Agenda 21, abortionist, gun grabbing, homo leftists.
So your scare tactic doesn't work. EPIC FAIL. Still not voting for Mitt.
Thank you for sharing your insights, dear brother in Christ!
Sorry, bender I am not voting for a liberal because you are hysterical.
Conservatives have many choices, you apparently only have one.
If you have not, read this book.
This is no time for our country to be mocking God. We may as individuals choose our actions, but we are not at liberty to choose the consequences.
