Carrie Underwood Supports Gay Marriage
US Magazine ^ | June 11, 2012 | Nicole Eggenberger

Posted on 06/11/2012 3:07:58 PM PDT by Pinkbell

It may come as a surprise to some of her fans, but Carrie Underwood has announced her support for gay marriage.

The devoutly Christian "Jesus, Take the Wheel" country singer spoke out to The Independent on why she believes marriage should be legal for all.

"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," Underwood, 29, explained. "I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."

The American Idol winner was raised in a Baptist church, but now attends a non-denominational church with her hockey player husband, Mike Fisher.

"Our church is gay friendly," she said. "Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me'. No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody."

And the Christian star from Oklahoma doesn't agree with "people who use the Bible for hate."

"That's not how I would want myself as a Christian to be represented."

I don't agree with people who use the Bible to promote a lifestyle which is clearly prohibited by the Bible. It's one thing if a person wants to disregard the Bible altogether and promote homosexual marriage, but to use the Bible to do it? Wrong. It is wrong to act as though because one supports homosexual marriage, one is the authentic Christian, and those who follow the Bible and thousands of years of tradition are false, unloving, bigoted Christians. That seems to be a tactic used by the liberals/homosexuals now as Christianity seems to be their biggest obstacle, so they are corrupting or twisting Christianity to have it fit their agendas.

Does she also think that we ought not judge those who wish to engage in polygamy, polyandry, group marriage, incest etc. or does this tolerance that people should be able to marry who they love only apply to homosexual couples?

The gays have completely taken over the entertainment industry, so if you want to “get along” you “go along.”

She’s toast in Dixie at the least. Just like Sinead O’Conner, she has shot herself in the ‘private part’. Is anyone here young enough to remember O’Conner?

The OT calls for homosexuals to be stoned and calls it an abomination. As for polygamy, there are circumstances under the Law where it is required and no where is it condemed.

So I have a lot less problem with polygamy than I do with homosexuality.

That's what I was going to say.
The pervert Libs run everything. If you want to get ahead and stay ahead you go along. (at least publicly)

Not that I'm taking up for her. I never liked her.

Another Biblical illiterate. The churches are filled with them.

Of course, it doesn’t help when so many churches reduce conversion to “I walked the aisle and prayed a prayer once, therefore I’m saved forever.” There’s no discipleship, church discipline, no preaching of repentance.

Here we have another artist that has decided that she doesn’t need anymore money or support (at least not from me)!

So, if a thirty-year old “loves” his thirteen-year old neighbor (and she “loves” him), they should be allowed to marry? I mean, she thinks that people who love one another should be allowed to marry.

I didn’t realize how money and success could completely corrupt someone’s moral being! But, the more I see these idiots speak out, the more I realize that money and success are the only things they have in common!

Her music must be Banished from every country radio station and from every Christian radio station.

Do like they did with the Beatles albums in the 1960’s and burn her albums in the streets.

"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," Underwood, 29, explained.

There are laws against marrying a relative.
There are laws against marrying someone underaged.
There are laws against marrying someone who is already married.

I have known people who have been long time separated from a spouse who REFUSES to sign divorce papers PROHIBITING them from marrying someone else.

Now how can someone you do not even live with and who does not protest you co-habitating with someone else PREVENT you from getting married?

Her argument is bullsh!t. The goal is to smash monogamy and the sex positive agenda has no problem with marrying any of the above listed persons. Group marriage? Ok. Incest? Ok. Underage age? They don't believe in age of consent laws anyway (neither do muslims).

And the Christian star from Oklahoma doesn't agree with "people who use the Bible for hate."

In other words, she doesn't agree that people should point out that a certain behavior is disapproved of in Bible passages. It encompasses the base argument for gay marriage: "If you won't let me do what I want (and celebrate it), you haaaaate me!" That is the argument that small children make when parents deny them something in a department store.

The Bible also frowns on murder, lying and false (American?) Idols. Would Ms. Underwood want people to stop the criticism of those practices?

Make her head explode by asking her if she believes that two homosexuals living together unmarried are “living in sin”.

The gospel has foretold that there will be people who call themselves believers who would be like this:

Matthew 7:21-27

21 ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?” 23Then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.”

Hearers and Doers

24 ‘Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. 26And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!’
