Here is the platform language passed:
IMMIGRATION
The Texas Solution – Because of decades-long failure of the federal government to secure our borders and address the immigration issue, there are now upwards of 11 million undocumented individuals in the United States today, each of whom entered and remain here under different circumstances. Mass deportation of these individuals would neither be equitable nor practical; while blanket amnesty, as occurred with the Simpson-Mazzoli Act of 1986, would only encourage future violations of the law. We seek common ground to develop and advance a conservative, market- and law-based approach to our nation’s immigration issues by following these principles:

1. Secure Our Borders – The U.S. Border must be secured immediately! We demand the application of effective, practical and reasonable measures to secure our borders and to bring safety and security for all Americans along the border and throughout the nation.

2. Modernize the United States Social Security Card – We support the improvement of our 1936 Social Security card to use contemporary anti-counterfeit technology. The social security card will not be considered a National ID card for U.S. citizens.

3. Birthright Citizenship – We call on the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the United States to clarify Section 1 of the 14th amendment to limit citizenship by birth to those born to a citizen of the United States with no exceptions.

4. Create an Effective and Efficient Temporary Worker Program – A national Temporary Worker Program should be implemented to bring skilled and unskilled workers into the United States for temporary periods of time when no U.S. workers are currently available. Additional program requirements should require:

Dallas Parkland Hospital leads nation in illegal immigrant births

Sherry Jacobson reports that 74 percent of the total 14,872 births at Parkland Hospital were to women who are believed to be in the country illegally. _______________________________________________________

That over 1000, illegal alien anchor babies per month, at just one Texas hospital.

Ya don't need to be a fortune teller to see what's coming for TX...Yuk yuk yuk.

I dont care if mass deportation is practical or not. I want my country back. I want my money, my culture, my lifestyle, my safety back. Lets try forced mass deportations for a year and reassess.

This is bullshit. President Eisenhower managed mass deportations. Where there exists will, Americans can do it.

The Texas Republicans are more concerned with bending to the demands of the construction and agricultural industries in that state than in abiding by Federal law. Those business sectors make large profits from exploiting illegal alien labor which drives down legal wages. This “platform plank” is evidence of that.

This is exactly why the United States is in such disorder. It is a situation driven by greed and dishonesty.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — The Texas Republican Convention conceded that mass deportation of illegal immigrants isn't practical and calling for "common ground"

How in hell would they know, since they never did that?

State after state falls to government sponsored violent, costly open borders chaos.

Common ground means throw the stupid tax payers a bone, make um think their being tough, and keep those damn borders open for that illegal low wage labor.

Common ground=compromise conservative principles, to hell with the rule of law, as that only applies to the legitimate tax payers.

4. Create an Effective and Efficient Temporary Worker Program – A national Temporary Worker Program should be implemented to bring skilled and unskilled workers into the United States for temporary periods of time when no U.S. workers are currently available.

When no U.S. workers are available?

Someone tell these U.N. open border globalist frauds there are tens of millions of unemployed and under employed Americans.

What happened to the GOP in Texas? Were they taken over by the hispanic coalition?

From 2010's platform:

Legal Immigration – One nation, one flag, one language, one loyalty; America is a country of immigrants, we should insist that any immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself/herself to the United States. He/she shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else. This is predicated upon the fact that the person is in every facet an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance. Anyone who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t American at all. We have room but for one flag, the American Flag. We have room for but one language here and that is the English language. We have room for but one sole loyalty and that is loyalty to the American people. (Teddy Roosevelt, 1907)

Illegal Immigration – Secure the Borders Now.

With growing impatience the American people in overwhelming numbers have asked our Government to secure our borders. They now demand it and we as a party agree with the American people. Illegal aliens have by definition violated U.S. law.

We oppose illegal immigration, amnesty in any form leading to citizenship, or legal status for illegal immigrants. We support an end to the “catch and release” policy; criminal penalties and aggressive enforcement for those who knowingly employ illegal workers; expeditious hearings on deporting non-violent illegal immigrants; amending the U.S. constitution to suspend automatic U.S. citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants; elimination of federal and state funding to cities with “sanctuary” laws; empowering state and local law enforcement agencies with authority and resources to detain illegal immigrants; rejection of non-verifiable foreign-issued cards as valid identification; strict prosecution of any entity involved in phony identification documents; elimination of day labor work centers; elimination of laws requiring hospitals to give non-emergency care to illegal’s; elimination of social security benefits or federal and state funding to illegal’s for education, housing or business loans; preventing any foreign entity from using our judicial system to enter the United States; document verification prior to issuance of a Texas drivers license; withholding federal highway funds from any state issuing drivers licenses to illegal aliens; and aggressive prosecution of persons smuggling humans across our borders. We support requiring all employers to utilize E-verify system to confirm the legal status of all new hires.

Enforcement of Immigration Law – We support strict and immediate enforcement of all immigration laws. Birthright Citizenship – We call on the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches of these United States to clarify Section 1 of the 14th amendment to limit citizenship by birth to those born to a citizen of the United States: with no exceptions

Anyone of any entity that mentions “Temporary Worker” or “Guest Worker” in regard to the Illegal Alien issue...supports Illegal Alien Amnesty. Yes they do

Sad that Texas GOP is going pro-illegal...when states traditionally more liberal are toughening up their platform against Illegal Aliens.

Texas needs to start acting like Arizona...and get a clue on the continuing problem of Illegal Alienism.

Standard attempt by business interests to import Mexican wages to Texas.

The dumb thing is, congress could just increase the quota for legal immigrants from Mexico. But actually teaching them citizenship might make them highly paid republicans rather than democratic plantation slaves.

Jery Patterson and the Chair of the Platform committe worked to push this through, along withNorm Adams. We lost the amendments votes Wed. And Thursday in Committee and then on the Floor, Friday. The Delegates denied amendment on the floor.

As one of the ones shouting, raising my hand high and trying to get this plank amended, here,,s my entire bog post on the plank:
Okay, I’ll admit it: I like the word, “sussurus,” and look for excuses to use it. A better term would be “whispers from the crowd that are going around” or . . .
http://wingright.org/2012/06/09/sussurus-or-how-to-divide-a-party/
There are rumblings that the 2012 Republican Party of Texas Platform is “pro-amnesty.”  the ones saying this have a history of assuming the worst and getting attention because they accuse.

The wording in the RPT 2012 platform (on page 21)  titled, “The Texas Solution” plank isn’t “pro-amnesty.” It is a little wimpy and *too easily interpreted* to allow amnesty –  especially if someone  or some group chooses to interpret it that way.

I, too, wanted to see changes in the wording of “The Texas Solution” that would ensure that no one claimed that we in the RPT approve amnesty of any kind.  The term “illegal alien” should have been used instead of “undocumented individuals” and the plan should specifically require guest workers to return to their country of legal residence to apply for guest worker visa.

However, the most important fact is that the Platform was passed after the Delegates had plenty of time and warning to read the planks and even some advance warning about what to read and why. The amendments failed in Sub-Committee, in the larger Platform Committee (on both Wednesday and on Thursday) and then, at the General Session when voted on by the Delegation.

The good news is that the Platform isn’t law. It is a list of those things we in the RPT believe. We do believe in “solutions,” not just complaints and criticisms. We will insist that our elected officials not -  in any way, shape or form -  promote “amnesty.”

Some of their positions are very good but the following capitulation:

“Mass deportation of these individuals would neither be equitable nor practical . . . We seek common ground to develop and advance a conservative, market- and law-based approach to our nation’s immigration issues”

is pathetic.

Translation: Yes, they broke the law, sponge off taxpayers, take work from Americans, commit crimes in disproportionate numbers, bankrupt hospitals, and made demands for more services at their La Raza rallies, but it’s impractical that we try to do anything meaningful about it. Let’s reward their criminal behavior by letting them stay.
