I first heard of Soros in the Clinton years. I picked up a copy of the International Herald-Tribune in Brussels. There was an article by Soros with a couple of columns on the front page and it continued on almost a whole page following.

I forget the title of the article, but the essence was featured in one of those “subject accent boxes” in the middle of it. The quote that stuck in my mind was, “The principle threat to the achievement of world peace is the irrational attitude of the average american citizen.” The article explained that the “american error” was the absurd belief that each of us has - as a natural right, individually, freedom!
