These literary agents approached a man w no writing credits whatsoever. He did not approach them—they came to him out of the blue. They gave him $165,000 plus many perks w’out so much as a sample chapter of his writing.

My point is that they did it on the strength of his bio, which included a Kenyan birth. You can’t say Obama’s lie about Kenya is what piqued their interest, because he didn’t approach them to sell himself or his story. They approached him. The idea that they had no idea who he was or where he was from, but just decided to throw around that kind of $ on a man who hadn’t even published a 1 p essay is simply not plausible.

Maybe yes, maybe no.

So much of what Obama has said about his past has turned out not to be true. Why should the story of his book deal be the truth when so much of his past isn’t true.

Almosst sounds like he was involved in a pay-for play deal.....He did something for that money and I’m betting it had nothing to do with writing or publications.

I think you are spot-on...I was just sitting here thinking about it, when your comment popped up, that was an awful lot of money, regardless where the author might have been born, and writers out of African countries weren’t exactly as rare as diamonds...it looks more like a form of money-laundering.

If Ayres needed to be paid, how would they go about it? Sniff sniff...Channel it through the fictitious author? Wild guess.

Money laundering was my first thought ..but why? What did he do with that amount of money. He certainly didn’t have any material things to show for it....could have gone up in smoke.. .

Sometime when a political person writes a books, a union a non-political individual buys multiple copies to distribute or put money in the candidates pocker. Candidate cn become very rich over night.

Can the source of this money be traced?

If it was just Obama’s word about any of this, I’d be the last person alive to believe him. However, all the details I mentioned, including the size of the advance and the fact that the agent approached Obama out of the blue, are matters of public record.

It was a simple matter of the agency being enamoured of the concept. The concept being the ‘journey in black and white’ from a Kenyan birth to the President of the Harvard Law Review.

Not everything is a conspiracy. The agency simply fell in love w their Kenyan-born, mixed-race Harvard law sensation, and made one fatal miscalculation. They didn’t think a person could become president of the Harvard Law Review sans writing ability. You can’t really blame them for that. Obama was the first, and probably last, talentless president of that publication.

Can it be traced? Difficult I imagine, when it appears that the entire exercise may have been conducted to HIDE WHERE IT CAME FROM AND WHERE IT WENT.

The source of the $ was the literary agency of Acton & Dystel. They considered it an investment in what they believed to be a promising young author. The money paid Obama’s living expenses during the period when he was supposed to be writing the book. From what we now know, he probably choomed a good part of it away, awaiting his nonexistent muse.

Con Law 101 Exam

The US constitution mentions “citizens” in a number of places but only once specifies a requirement that an officeholder be a “natural born citizen”.

Please address each question:

1) Where is that requirement found?

2) What reference book was considered the definitive text on international law at the time our Constitution was written?

3) Who said regarding that reference book “It came to us in good season, when the circumstances of a rising State make it necessary to frequently consult the Law of Nations.” ?

4) Assume that a child was born in a Kansas City, Kansas hospital, with news cameras and reporters present and luckily was immediately issued a birth certificate for the child of a woman born in Kansas of parents born in the US and of a father born in Kenya of Kenyan parents, then a British colony who was never naturalized as a US citizen and by virtue of his birthplace held dual citizenship as a Kenyan and British citizen. Is their child a natural born citizen under the US Constitution?

Please discuss.

Hint: The answer to question #2 is in question #3.

Extra credit: How might a pretender to the presidency stretch out questions regarding his eligibility as a “natural born citizen” by dribbling out “facts” concerning his birth certificate long enough to be elected president, get through his first term and be re-elected while systematically destroying the country he swore to defend?

Good Luck! ;-)

I remember reading that explanation of filed / accepted at the time, too. What struck me was what was not asked and answered : what causes the computer document generator to choose the word filed or accepted when creating a printed document? I must have asked that question here back then, too.

How about you go looking at my past replies and find your answers there.

Here, I'll help you...
@by philman_36 site:freerepublic.com "natural born citizen"
@by philman_36 site:freerepublic.com "article 2 section 1"
@by philman_36 site:freerepublic.com "vattel"
@franklin "vattel" It came to us in good season

Please discuss.
How about you do some legwork on your own before you continue this BS game of "where do you stand"!

Is their child a natural born citizen under the US Constitution?
Under your criteria and under my understanding of the issue, no, the child would not be a natural born citizen as the father was an alien at the time of birth. The child would be a US citizen and would be entitled in all legal matters to all of the rights and protections afforded by the Constitution to a natural born citizen just like every other naturalized citizen.

How might a pretender to the presidency stretch out questions regarding his eligibility as a “natural born citizen” by dribbling out “facts” concerning his birth certificate long enough to be elected president, get through his first term and be re-elected while systematically destroying the country he swore to defend?
Too easy...just lie your ass off...repeatedly!

What did they do with the money Obama got as an advance for the book he didn’t write? They blew it. He and Michelle spent months in Bali and they went to Kenya. He didn’t write the book he was paid to write. That was supposed to be about black/white relations. A book of essays. He ended up stuck. He couldn’t write it so he turned it into a book about himself. Michelle Obama is on record as saying that Ayers “helped” him write the book. Ayers himself admits that he wrote the book. Jack Cashill, of WND, did an exhaustive analysis that found probable cause to believe that Ayers wrote the book or at least heavily edited/rewrote it. This publisher gave him the advance because it’s a progressive company full of “progressives” and they help each other out. Obama, all his life, has been the beneficiary of progressive “help”. Has he ever held a REAL job? No. Did he ever achieve anything on merit and NOT because of his race? No. He was the first affirmative action editor of the Harvard Law Review. He hasn’t even fairly won any of his elections. He always needs a thumb on the scale.

“They didn’t think a person could become president of the Harvard Law Review sans writing ability.”

Now that is a very astute comment. Thank you for the cogent explanation. It makes perfect sense. How were they to know that he wasn’t qualified for the job? They’re as guilty as the media, which also didn’t “vet” Obama.

So it was Bill Ayers to the rescue. Maybe the publisher even hooked them up, but it’s more likely that Obama knew Ayers from their days living in the same ‘hood in New York, when Obama was at Columbia and Ayers was at Bank Street College with Obama’s girlfriend Genevieve Cook.

Actually the original would-be publisher, Poseidon, never got squat for their $. Obama choomed it all away w nothing to show for it at all—not even a chapter. His indefatigable agent when to a different publisher and got him a second advance. [You have to add the two advances up to reach the $165,000 figure, incidentally.]

When Obama looked as if he would exhaust the second pile of $, Michelle gathered up all his notes and dumped them on Ayers. This account may be found in a sympathetic book about the Obamas’ marriage by Jodi Kantor entitled, “The Obamas”. Kantor never interviewed the Obamas themselves, but did intensive interviews w friends and aquaintances, fwiw.

Please accept my abject apology.

In your #16 I thought you were including yourself in the “eligible” crowd that mocks we Constitutionalists. On any BC/NBC thread any number of otherwise credible FReepers show up to belittle our theories and efforts.

I admire the great work that our brethren have made in trying to provide a background history of the pResident from the time he first made himself a candidate.

Every aspect of his past reeks of a created identity however its been most frustrating to me that even given his life story, even allowing his stated Hawaiian birth that he should not be NBC eligible for the Presidency.

There were ten plus states that at least had bills in their state governments after 2008 that focused on BC proof requirements and they’ve all failed. Jan Brewer in AZ vetoed a good candidate qualification bill.

Why the various state didn’t coordinate their efforts with a “best of all” qualifying provision designed for SCOTUS review I cannot understand.

His BC, on its face, denies NBC status and yet here we are, without standing, no progress and a bad possibility that he’ll be re-elected. How the NBC issue has not made it to at least appellate review is preposterous.

Again, my apologies for confusing you with the “who cares” crowd. I owe you one.

Charlie
