In Wisconsin, the Left Picked a Fight -- and Lost
The Atlantic ^ | June 5, 2012 | Molly Ball

It doesn't mean Obama is going to lose, but the failed attempt to recall Scott Walker gives Democrats and organized labor reason to fear an emboldened conservative agenda.

It's important to remember, as Democrats cope with their failure to topple Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in Tuesday's recall, that this was a fight they chose.

Unlike the vast majority of elections, which occur on a regular schedule, the recall was a fight the left picked on purpose. They picked it because they thought they could win. And they were wrong.

It wasn't even close. With two-thirds of the votes reported late Tuesday, Walker led his Democratic opponent, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, by 58 percent to 42 percent.

The idea behind the recall effort was to send a message: a warning to conservatives across the country that there was a line not to be crossed when it came to messing with the hard-earned gains of public worker unions. By losing, however, the consortium of unions, progressives and Democrats that worked so ardently to send Walker packing may have sent the opposite message. If Walker can survive, what's to stop any other right-leaning governor from pushing the envelope?

"This really is a test case. The far right made Wisconsin its petri dish," said Robert Kraig, executive director of Citizen Action Wisconsin, a grassroots progressive group that supported the recall effort. Walker's win, he said, will embolden the Koch brothers and other national conservative funders to get ideologically sympathetic Republicans to push their agenda across the country.

"Wisconsin will not be the high water mark of the attack on unions, public employees, and the middle class," Kraig said. "You will see more Walker-like politicians elected in other states, and you will see more current governors taking this type of attack."

Ok, please keep your mitts of our great Scott Walker. haa haa.

After he has fought so hard and campaigned against the vindictive recall - please let him finish his term in the great state of Wisconsin. He is a proud man tonight and so are We the People of Wisconsin.

Proud to be here in Packerland.

Come on. Somebody throw a tantrum. Let’s hear some psychotic ranting from the left. It’s so much more fun to laugh in their faces when they’re going nuts.

If mental illness is hereditary, then maybe sanity is infectious. Yell your statement from the rooftops and at least those who hear can't claim ignorance.

Ever notice how ugly the Dims look when they lose? Or just look in general with their whiny "gimme" beliefs? Conservatives blow off their losses and may look disappointed, but not ugly and ready to pounce. We regroup.

Interestingly, I bet not a one of those poor pathetic "gimmes" have a weapon amongst them. I don't mean that they would or should do anything illegal, but they are so full of their self-righteous PEACE beliefs that they wouldn't have a clue how to defend themselves against their own radical brethern anarchists, who do have weapons.

Dims are, well, dim.

"This is why unions should again be outlawed for public employees."

Indeed. Remember when Ronald Reagan FIRED the Air Traffic Controllers? I do and thought it to be one of the best moves he made. How dare those ATC's hold our flights hostage to their whiny dictates? Surprisingly, the airlines continued on with new ATC's.

There should be NO such thing as a public service union. Government employees exist to serve the public, not to serve themselves. Period.

They want those cushy jobs, then let them show their worth. They don't, then fire each one from the lowliest city councilman to highest Fedgov bureaucrat. Fire them all! Start anew!

Bless, Governor Walker! He stood tall! And provided a template for other States! I'm not easily impressed in my old age, but Walker has done something for his state that I believe will spread and make a huge difference. The parasite unions are going to die.

Between Arizona, Georgia, some others and now Wisconsin, I'm actually starting to believe that the States are getting fed up with Fedgov mandates and control.

I will personally contribute $1000 dollars to re-constitute
VETSCOR. Match that and I promise I will spend every working day to bring about more and more contributions and to build support for our Military/Veterans and legislative votes to keep our nation strong. It will take money and work and maybe professional types, but we can make it happen.

After this night of seeing that our Nation wants change in Wisconsin, it’s now time to back to work for myself and others. I had my doubts, but no longer.

I pledge this with all my being and honor, but I can’t do it alone. We did some good stuff back when and we can do more. Unfortunately, we have a short time frame to get this “community organizer” out of our White House.

It’s about appealing to every military man/woman, their extended families and those who understand our mission to re-constitute our standard-of-living. If we bring it home to that level, we may have a chance. It’s only June in this election season. Plus, we can work the TEA Party and coordinate our efforts.

I will post an article regarding this request, soonest.

Thanks for posting that picture.

Will they even bother to ask,
"Hey! Where did all that money raised for the re-call go?"

The Dems are trying to make this about “unions”; it was about “public sector unions”, and it is critical to clarfiy that. Here in NJ they’ve bankrupted municipalities and the families that are trying to raise families in them (hence the election of Chris Christie).

The animals of the left are out on twitter now calling for the assasination of Walker. Not really surprised.

“...The idea behind the recall effort was to send a message: a warning to conservatives across the country that there was a line not to be crossed when it came to messing with the hard-earned gains of public worker unions....”

The message this victory just sent to the other side:

“We Won. Deal with it.”

These tweets have to be sent to the authorities including the Wisconin State Police and FBI.

Most tweets were openly threats to Walker. These have to be reported.

I noticed another pattern in these tweets.....
