If Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker loses the election to recall him from office Tuesday, the political press will declare the arrival of Big Labor's comeback. If Walker wins, it will be seen as yet another sign of labor's demise.
The election to recall the Republican governor, sparked by Walker's successful 2011 effort to end collective bargaining for public employees, has drawn participation from many different groups, including the tea party. But unions, which have long been fighting stories of their demise, have much of what's left of their reputation as powerful political organizers riding on the race.
Union membership in 2011 fell to a record low for the second straight year, according to the Department of Labor, but that's not the only avenue in which unions have been struggling.
Bill Schneider, a a senior fellow and resident scholar at centrist think tank Third Way, told Yahoo News that labor has lately experienced "tougher times winning" electoral races in which they've inserted themselves. This includes labor's unsuccessful attempt to take down Sen. Blanche Lincoln in the 2010 Arkansas Democratic primary.

including the tea party. What Tea Party are you talking about rachel? I hate it when these bozos just make stuff up..getting paid by the word.
Having their free ride curtailed is not a wound.
Whiny parasites.
Here is what is going on. The GOP-e "blessed" us with a milquetoast RINO nominee for President, one that is virtually a democrat. So much so the lefties and the MSM are comfortable going after their own. Believe me if Gingrich were the nominee none of this would be happening.
I’ll know Walker won when the MSM doesn’t report it tomorrow.
To answer that question you need only look to a definition of what being insane is - expecting different results while doing the same thing over and over again. Typical lib behavior.
Book mark (great summery)
Its a public employee union against taxpayer problem NOT a private employee union against business owners problem.
105 million, private-sector workers, 7% union
20 million, public-sector workers, 37% union
It’s 8:38 am. EST. Has Dan Rather already called the election for Barrett?
Too quick. Walker should use the justice system to eviserate the unions for their illegal activities, with hard labor sentences for convicted union leaders.
Walker also needs to pull the legislators' hotels out of their alpha and pass a bill to relegalize capital punishment.
Wisconsin has a history of being tough in battle.
From militaryhistoryonline.com:
Their (6th Wisconsin) first action came two days before the Second Battle of Bull Run in August of 1862 in the Brawner farm fields near Gainsville, Virginia. Here they ran into portions of Stonewall Jackson's corps. Despite being greatly outnumbered, they were able to hold off Stonewall and his men for a few hours until darkness ended the contest. This is where the Iron Brigade (2nd, 6th, and 7th Wisconsin, 19th Indianna, 24th Michigan) first began to earn its reputation. Captured Confederates would refer to them as the Black Hat Devils of the Army of the Potomac. Others prisoners were heard to say, it's no use to fight that Big Hat Brigade, we will only get cut to pieces. Already in their first fight, they had earned the fear and respect of their enemies.
The Iron Brigade was always sent to the thick of the fight: Second Bull Run, South Mountain, in the cornfield at Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and of course at Gettysburg.
Most definitely, Wisconsin, fight on!
ABC News is in the bag for the Clinton’s.
Payback is a b*&ch!
“Ill know Walker won when the MSM doesnt report it tomorrow.”
That’s kinda like, If the phone don’t ring you’ll know its me.
Nothing has changed. The MSM is trying to rehab their credibility by telling the truth once in a while.
The only reason any of this happens is because unions negotiate with state officials whom the unions put in power.
It is one giant money laundering operation that is paid for with taxpayer dollars.
Break that cycle, combined with non predatory union dues and this takes care of itself.
LLS
That is the case until the government comes in, with tax payer money, and bails the union employer out.
——OK, Wisconsin - TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!——
Yeah! LET’S ROLL!
No, the only reason Walker wins is because Big Labor shouldn't have tried to recall him in the first place. Typical.
“If Walker wins, will the unions riot?”
They will demand a re-count—even if they are spanked, see Mourdock v. Luger: 60-40—and when that doesn’t work, they will hold their breath until they turn blue.
They’re already making noises about Walker “pushing his own agenda.” Translated: he’s just repeating what he campaigned and won on—so, this really is a self-inflicted wound. The last two efforts to recall governors were successful but of course we knew this demo-mulligan was snake-bit when both Clinton and Obama got involved.
Loosers.
heh - A labor union doing hard labor...
