Clinton signed a bill limiting SS protection for FUTURE presidents to 10 years after leaving office. So it affects Bush, Obama, and whomever comes after. However, Clinton has lifetime protection.

Your “arrest” comments seemed to verify my perception. You can I can’t even detain someone. If we bind them it’s kidnapping. We are detaining their free movement.
I agree with your bad cops comment. “Law Enforcement Officers” are just that. They are the long arm of the law ensuring laws are observed. If someone commits an infraction, the officers document it and takes proper measures. If they act illegally, they become the party making infractions and destroy their proper role.
The official complaint is a good idea. I will say that officers going this far must have some reasonable perception that they can get away with it. Perhaps they’re union officers, and on the same team as those at the rally. Perhaps their department is corrupt enough that they don’t fear something being put in their jacket.
