WTF? He wants to ‘give’ people 3K? Where’s it come from, ‘cause last time I looked, we were broke.

Give me a 3K tax break, I’ll take care of the rest.

Is this guy economically stunted, stupid, or what?

Actually, I believe the reference is to the same $3,000 figure as the Kenyan Clown gave during his weekly radio address: Right now, Congress should give every responsible homeowner the opportunity to save an average of $3,000 a year by refinancing their mortgage. (link)

If so, then that hypothetical $3,000 would come from squeezing the banking industry; though, so far, all of the coerced "refinancing" schemes from the politicos have been a joke: the uptake has been virtually zero on any of them — the main reason of course is that the implementation is left up to the banks which have no interest in doing any coerced refinancings.

The biggest joke of course is the most recent "$25 billion foreclosure settlement"; so far, the only beneficiaries have been the states, which have received a few large checks and cashed them.

I don't think that even one mortgage has actually been refinanced yet under the new settlement agreement, nor do I expect to see any more than a token amount ever processed.

He doesn’t want everyone to get it. He’ll tax us to pay for it.
