Hey buddy. (to the Marine)This is the country you chose to serve. For exercising you rights, you now have a police record. Happy, now?

I served decades ago. If I could have seen beforehand what this country would become, no way in hell would I have served. As for the donut scarfing pig that arrested the Marine, he can rot in hell.

I’m with you chessplayer. I’m slowly losing my respect for big city police.

Why do so many cops look like miniature barrage balloons these days?

Do they need all that extra beef because they're scared of the serfs they're oppressing, or is it a steroids thing?

ALL of those cops looked like blimps.

Roger that.

I tell all young folk I meet who are planning to joining the military to reconsider. My favorite argument is to tell them all about the V.A. and the crap that wounded soldiers go through. [Example: I know one gentleman who has been fighting the V.A. since 1975 over a disability claim; his claim isn't something hard to diagnose-he lost both legs to a mine in 'Nam.

Next, I'll ask him/her if they have the guts to shoot their best friend's father if the Powers that Be ordered him/her to because they claim he's "anti-American" or some such nonsense. The kicker usually is "they are going to ask you to take an oath to defend the constitution of these United States...have you read it?" and the response is almost always negative.

I now fear the police more than I fear the criminal.

Which is fine because it’s a free country. But there, of course, is the reason why I now believe that so-called patriots are just as untrustworthy as criminals and would like to kill me just as much as any other cop-hater:
You see all cops as criminals, I see all patriots as untrustworthy anarchists who would like to shoot me if I dare try to investigate a crime.
Which side fosters the “us vs. them” more at this point?
