Perry: We don’t need outsiders’ views on Senate race (Are you listening, Sarah Palin?)

Gov. Rick Perry is once again slamming out-of-state interest groups backing former solicitor general Ted Cruz in his runoff with Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst this time tweaking Sarah Palin, U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint and Rick Santorum by suggesting their states could learn a lot from Texas, but Texas doesnt need their advice on choosing its next U.S. senator.
Perry, standing staunchly behind Dewhurst, brushed off the question about whether his own tea party credibility may be damaged by his opposition to Cruz, who has been endorsed by national conservative and tea party groups and figures (including Palin, DeMint and Santorum) in the runoff for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.
[...]
Without naming Palin, DeMint or Santorum, Perry called them to mind by naming their states: I appreciate everybody paying attention to Texas as well they should, they could learn some things on how to run South Carolina and Pennsylvania and Alaska.
Come to Texas and learn how to do it right, but dont come down here and tell us who needs to be our next United States senator, thank you very much. Well decide that without your outside, Washington, D.C.-oriented help, Perry said.

Seriously, somebody needs to run a list of people/characters Palin has been compared to by her opponents on FR, to go along with the list of comparisons made by her supporters. Because you can make the argument that some of the supporters’ comparisons might be overenthusiastic, but the opponents’ comparisons are mostly just plain stupid. (My personal favorite when somebody...actually, I think more than one somebody...said she was a cross between Chance from “Being There” and Lonesome Rhodes from “A Face In The Crowd”. Now, how you combine an autistic savant with a cunning, manipulative bastard...well, there might be some political consultants who qualify, I’ll grant you, but I really don’t see that combination in Governor Palin.)

I don't wonder that at all.
I wonder why people like you and other trolls who denigrate it bother to come around. Your anti-Freeper site not good enough for you? It is quite pathetic.

Uhh? What does your lineage have to do with what type of Texan Perry is or for that matter what kind of Texan you are?
Austin? "Berkley on the Brazos" you didn't do yourself any favors there.
Perry's a politician, his policies and opinions change quicker than the wind direction so to have an opinion about him is foolish. I think Perry is just an old "dirt farmer" that's way out of his league but he's still more Texan than the clowns that try to put us in a box.
Tell you what Mr uber-Texan. Get a 2 or 3 year old truck and take a tour of the "Rustbelt" then get back to me.

Sometimes I think we should build a fence north of the border myself.

HELLO!
The fence needs to be on the Red River not the Rio Grande but we're still where we were some 200 yrs ago. The North cannot survive without the South but they will slaughter you by the thousands and call it "racism".
Life on the border has become intolerable and I pray to the Lord every night. "Let it be in my lifetime,do not visit this pestilence on my children."

If you haven’t noticed, this site is called FREE Republic,
not Limited Republic. I am free to post my thoughts in any
article that is posted here, including articles about the
Texas Senate race.
The next senator from Texas will affect every conservative
in the nation, including this conservative from Tennessee.
So, I welcome any outside group that will help Ted Cruz get
elected to the Senate.
And BTW, your name calling is against the FR rules.
Since you are new, I suggest you take the time to read
the rules before you post.

I have lived on the border since 1981. I’m not really on the border now as I am 50 mi NE of Dallas.
I never had issues back in the day when I lived just miles from the border. I never even locked the house when I lived 6 mi from Naco
The problems have come from DC and the folks that refuse to allow us to enforce our border.
Idiots in places like DC make laws that tie our hands and THEN they wail that we are the problem.

Might want to take a refresher course in English, as well.

NOTED! and thanks for the reminder.
I'm really glad you have an opinion but what makes me really happy is that you have no vote.
When I have an opinion about stupid redneck candidates from Tennessee I'll let you know. What's that guy? Oh yeah, what was that guy? Harold Ford

I've lived on the border all my life and the situation is untenable. Families cannot even bury their dead.
On the Mexican side families cannot let their children play outdoors.
The "War on Drugs" has destroyed an entire culture and the politicos on both sides are getting rich.
Remember "Prohibition"?
Politicians have learned a lot since the "30"s and their greed is a bottomless pit.

Oh yeah, what was that guy? Harold Ford.
Well, for one he’s not a redneck. He’s Black.
He is from the Memphis Area, I live in East Tennessee.
Not much I can do about Mr. Ford.
However, I would welcome any conservative “outside” groups
that will help get rid of Corker and Alexander. However,
we have to have credible conservative candidates to start
with. And so far, none have emerged.
If and when that happens, I hope conservative super-pacs
will come in and counter balance the support Corker and Alexander will get from the DC GOPe’s superpacs.
