Please.
Free Republic is only now showing signs of recovering from the death knell we experienced during the anti-Romney crusade.
Sensible voices are now being heard. Idiocracy was crushing Free Republic far more than Romney ever could or would.
We actually ended up with a decent nominee. We might not agree with him on everything, but so far, he’s looking good.
He doesn’t seem to be afraid to bring it to Obama.
The group I call “The Band of Bothers” who come on every thread (whether it is about Romney or not) to leave a trail of slime is gradually being overcome by the sensible people still left here.
Take your paranoia elsewhere.

""Sensible voices are now being heard."" ? ""Idiocracy was crushing Free Republic"" ? ""We actually ended up with a decent nominee."" ? ""a trail of slime is gradually being overcome by the sensible people still left here."" ? ""Take your paranoia elsewhere."" ?
Do you know who was leading that anti-Romney crusade and is still not backing your man?

.
I respect your opinion ...
However, you've clearly not investigated the GOP 2012 candidates ...
Jim Robinson (Free Republic founder) did just that, and like hundreds of thousands of genuine American Patriots ...
came to the conclusion that (my words here) that the "Celestial God-Child from Planet Kolob" (Mitt Romney) was just another lyin' slimey E-RINO loser like Juan McCain ... albeit a few years younger ...
I came to the same opinion ... independently of Jim Robinson ...
Throughout the GOP Primaries ... the Mormon Arch-Bishop NEVER articulated a SINGLE conservative throught ...
and unlike Newt Gingrich ... and frightenly akin to Barack Hussein Obama ...
Mitt Romney has only offered STANDARD CAMPAIGN PLATITUDES ...
NOT promises or committments ...
other than someone else I'm familiar with ...
"Barrack Hussein Obama" ...
both of who LOVE national health care ...
and promise to "bring America to Ecomonic greatness again" ...
and "restore our HOPE in America" ...
Your assessment of the Mormon Arch-Bishop as a "decent nominee" will be (sadly) DEMOLISHED when ...
Mittens can't remember his own name when debating Obama ...
and flashes that infamous "Plastic Mittens" smile ... while (stupidly) challenging Obama to a $ 10,000 bet ...
Romney is where he is (right now) as the "presumptive" GOP nominee simply because he and his Wall Street GOP Yacht Club buddies ...
"carpet-bombed" every DECENT GOP candidate into oblivion this past spring ...
In my personal life, I am amazed at how often the principle "What Goes Around, Comes Around" ... be it good or evil ...
Obama would have DESTROYED our "Celestial God-Child from Planet Kolob" in the 2012 Presidential Election ...
except that Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin "will be" the GOP 2012 Presidential nominees ...
Finally ... I know that you didn't use the phrase "Band of Brothers" in a disrectful manner ...
Regardless ... I wear the political "Badge of Saint Davy" with the highest honor, and I thank you for that highest of compliments ...
"Band of Brother's" ?
You'll enjoy this greatest of speeches from Shakespeare's Henry V ...

This day is called the Feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day and comes safe home
Will stand a-tiptoe when this day is named
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall see this day and live t' old age
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours
And say, "Tomorrow is Saint Crispian."
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars
And say, "These wounds I had on Crispin's day."
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester
Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered.
This story shall the good man teach his son,
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day.
