Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has now secured at least 88 of the 155 delegates at stake in the Texas Primary, bringing his secured delegate total to 1174, 30 more than necessary to win the majority of the delegated needed for the GOP nomination.
With 4% of Texas precincts now reporting, Romney has consistently maintained or increased a 60 point lead over his nearest competitor, Congressman Ron Paul.
In the contested race for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, David Dewhurst is holding a 48% to 31% lead over his nearest rival Ted Cruz in a nine person contest.

David Dewhurst REP 304,460 47.81% 388,209 46.98%
Well said!
My husband voted Dewhurst too, he thought about Leppert but???
Cruz won my precinct 63 to 45 over Dirty David Dewhurst.
Wow, there’s a surprise. You sure love your liberal RINOs.
You vote for the Socialist. We Conservatives don’t want Willard.
I happen to agree with you. But letting them pout and vent serves one very useful purpose: It undermines the attempts of the pro-commie media to paint Romney as a right-wing extremist. You know they’ll try.
“But it’s early”
Yep it is.
“With 4% of Texas precincts now reporting”
“He should make the speech of a lifetime and reach out to the tea party folks and other conservatives that usually fight to keep candidates like HIM out of DC.”
Why should he? Those of us that are conservative didn’t vote for the fool in the primary. Nor will many of us in the general election. He was elected by the GOPe. He is their candidate. Except for lower offices, like the House and Senate...this election is over for true conservatives. Romney doesn’t nor will ever represent us or our values. It is the acme of foolishness to think otherwise.
“Will he be some improvement over Kay Bailey Hutchinson?”

Anything short of a Dem would be an improvement over KBH.
Reince Preibus was just on, maybe he told her, LOL
Or it came from the munchkins in "America's Election HQ" looking at where the votes have come in from already and otherwise crunching the numbers... I guess we'll find out if she is right.
As does Wiley Price.
Turnout was truly pitiful all around.
Perry’s name wasn’t on the ballot but Michelle Bachman was so that’s who I voted for. It wasn’t going to matter anyway.
Look, friend, don’t waste another second on these very few tunnel vision folks that blab hatred for Mitt Romney on this and other sites. There are two kinds of folks in this world. Strategic thinkers and Tunnel Vision fools that really and truely believe that cutting off their noses to spite their faces is a wise and justified move. Fortunately, they are a tiny minority. Forget them, they amount to nothing.
You want to concentrate on a needed victory, vote for Cruz and against Dewhurst, come the upcoming July runoff. Forget these few naysayers. You waste valuable time and words on a lost cause. Forget ‘em!!! ABO!!!
Greta’s not the type to have to do retractions, so Good news!
Cruz still moving up
Ted Cruz REP 193,550 30.15% 286,225 31.82%
David Dewhurst REP 307,132 47.85% 420,714 46.77%
The NYT chart shows Romney with enough delegates but does he have the delegates? Ron Paul has a lot more delegates than the NYT chart shows.
The last count I saw Romney was still 400 short!
I'll tell you what could go wrong....0bama appoints Holder to the Supreme Court.
Or if you don't like that 0bama could appoint Arne Duncan
Or if you still don't like that 0bama could appoint John Holdren
So go ahead vote for 0bama. What could go wrong? At least he isn't Romney.
A funeral for the once-great party of Lincoln would be more appropriate.
