Ah, I see you found it. Actually, I think this is a picture from the 70s, so it isn't fair to use this picture to berate the man for what he looked like in 1960. Apart from that, It would appear you have little experience with this phenomena.
I have had many friends in the Black community, and I have seem many things which I have regarded as strange. You and I may not understand why some pretty young white girl would want to have a sexual relationship with a much older black man, but I assure you that it is oddly enough, quite common.
I had an old (50+) black friend who would sweet talk young white girls every single time he met one, and half the time he would be bringing them back to his motel room. I can't remember how many relationships he had with teenage white girls, but he had so many of them following him that he had to scrap them off his shoe. And he wasn't the only one doing it!
Now i've read Frank Marshall Davis' "Livin' the Blues", and in that book he mentions quite often how many sexual encounters he had with various women, and how much success he had with young white women. He bragged about how so many white women visitors to the Island couldn't wait to get into bed with him because it was a "forbidden love" and was therefore a powerful compulsion for them.
Now i'm not saying it works on all of them, but I have become utterly convinced that there is a fairly large segment of white girls that fantasize about having sex with a black man. Davis was apparently pretty good at ferreting them out, and obviously Stanley Ann was one of them.
