Its estimated that tens of thousands of people in Japan and the whole of North America have been affected, with reports indicating that children in Japan and the U.S. are already being born with birth defects, as well as thousands who have already succumbed to radiation related illness. As we initially followed the breaking news during the first thirty days of the accident, we suggested the Fukushima disaster would be worse than Chernobyl. Not even we could have imagined how much worse it would be.

When Godzilla shows up, I’ll start to worry.
This is absolute bunk. The radiation levels are high by Japanese standards, but there were very low to begin with. Colorado and Rome both have higher radiation levels than all but the immediate vicinity around the plant at Fukushima.
More bozos getting their rocks off on trying to get people to run around screaming.
I read this article in its entirety, did you? You say it’s bunk, I hope your right. That’s what I need, people to debunk all of this.
There is more foolish from the loony left. Even Chernobyl only killed a handful of people and there were no long term side effects.
No mention in the article mentioning what they are talking about. How much radiation, what is the half life. Where is the proof?
There is background radiation and the stuff from Japan falls well with in it. Besides they have found that a little radiation is actually good for you.
This is nonsense. That does not mean that everything is going to be all right. If Obama is re-elected, the world may enter a new dark age.
I have degrees in natural science and radiologic technology and more than 3 decades working in the field of radiology.
I am TOTALLY unconcerned about the risks to myself and my
family from the events in Fukushima. People here are far far far far far more likely to die in a car accident than
to suffer any negative physical effects from this incident.
What about Hiroshima then and now?
That’s good to know. Cheers.
You’ll probably get more radiation from living in a house with granite countertops.
Huh... Sounds like the Northern Hemisphere is primed to become a breeding place for mutants.
Like the X-Men, for example.
Now, now! No pills are necessary.
Tens of thousands of people here in the U.S. have not died from radiation pouring out of Fukushima, as the writer of this boilerplate insists.
If you’re really that concerned, I suggest you purchase your own dosimeter. Here’s link:
This little device will allow to see how much radiation exposure you experience. Maybe you’ll feel better.
Hype.
More than 1000 atomic weapons were detonated just 65 miles outside of Las Vegas and it is inhabitable.
People used to watch the mushroom clouds from hotel balconies and windows.
That is more and dirtier megatonnage than the combined nuclear arsenals of India, Pakistan and North Korea.
An atomic bomb was set off right inside of Hiroshima, yet more than 5 million people live there today.
Seriously, there is a lot of speculation in that article. This event has the possibility in a worse case scenario of becoming very bad. But that would require another major quake. There are numerous unanswered questions that we are trying to get Tepco/Japan to answer, however. As a precaution, just do some prepping. Nothing bad can come from prepping. My 2cents.
I just checked out Ebay - they have lots of dosimeters for sale, and at much lower prices than the link I supplied.
This is no joke. If you are truly concerned about your safety, the price for one of these is small and can bring you peace of mind.
