Sarah,

Hatch is an irascible old fart and it's time for him to go.
NO ONE is irreplaceable

That so-called “warrior” leaked HIGHLY classified information during the GWB invasion of Iraq.

Some of us remember.

Nice try but you are on the wrong side of real change again. Just like with McQueeg

And Sarah is not alone among conservatives on this ...

Mark Levin’s full explanation of why he supports Orrin Hatch for US Senate

Clearly, Senator Hatch is light years better than deposed Sen. Dick lugar ...

Oh this really sounds like Tea Party values, Sarah is supporting the RINO POS that wrote and sang songs and idolized the traitor Fat Teddy Kennedy.

But WTH, she’s never going to run for elective office again, bet the rent.

So, with Sarah being wounded and brutalized by the media Left, without a powerful mentor anywhere in sight, and Hatch being a both ways kind of guy who has cost conservatives dearly, done nothing conservative by himself or single handed, but play the influence peddler, the old boy knows who he can play now. Scared out of his beejeebies, early and often by the Tea Party, set for a loss to a solid conservative, Hatch knows how to run a reverse play and goes straight for the top, with charm balm.

It worked. Again.

It’s a good match, politically, and both get a lot from the other at no political cost.

Orin Hatch pushed the conformation of Ruth B. Ginsberg for the Supreme Court. She admittedly has abject disdain for our constitution. What the hell is Sarah Palin thinking by endorsing this RINO POS? Sadly, Sarah now dwells in the realm of no confidence with regards to her post pro constitutional patriotism.

“Sarah Palin can do whatever she wants, but this doesn’t affect our race,” says Holly Richardson, Liljenquist’s campaign manager.

Now if Holly were a much better campaign manager, she might have said something like "Yes we would have loved to have received Sarah Palin's endorsement but we didn't. If Dan Liljenquist is nominated, we hope she will campaign hard for us."

“I saw this movement coming before Senator Bennett did,” Hatch recalls. “A year before the Bennett race, I invited David Kirkham, a Utah tea-party leader and an outstanding man, to come meet with me in my office. I spent two and a half hours with him.” Since then, Hatch has hosted similar meetings with countless Utah conservatives.

So Hatch had to change his stripes & host conservatives. Wonder where he was all of those other yrs.

I have to say this really surprised me, but knowing how incredibly solid both Sarah and Mark Levin are, I knew they had good reasons to support Hatch. He was such a hero during the Clarence Thomas hearings, he won a huge place in my heart.

Risking Hatch's safe seat would have been a huge factor too.

...where Hatch has frequently been an influential figure during contentious Supreme Court confirmations.

As fast as the last two breezed through confirmation was Hatch even there?

“There’s no evidence whatsoever that the states are not investigating, prosecuting and punishing crimes triggered by bias and prejudice.

Even Attorney General Eric Holder has lauded the states’ efforts to punish hate crimes.” ~ Orrin Hatch

Sorry folks, but Orrin Hatch not only a pigfaced liar, he’s GOP-E+ and an ultra-RINO.

It’s way past high time for term limits on senators.

That’s what ANY discussion about Orrin Hatch should be about.

Bad move on Palin’s part, no matter how bendy, twisty, flaccid “TV” people try to spin it.

You make an effort to reach out to people that can help you win, treat them decently, stick up for them, build relationships with them, and they support you. In short, astute politician is astute. Gee. Imagine that.

This in particular really irritates me:

“Sarah Palin can do whatever she wants, but this doesn’t affect our race,” says Holly Richardson, Liljenquist’s campaign manager. “Endorsing Orrin Hatch is the antithesis of what she says she represents — breaking up the old guard and bringing change to Washington. But I guess they’re friends.”

First, Holly, I don’t believe for a second that that endorsement didn’t affect your campaign. If Palin had endorsed your boy instead of Hatch, that sure as hell would have affected your campaign. You guys would have been unable to shut up about it. And rightly so. Of course it affected your campaign when she went the other way. Lying in the first sentence of the statement does not really endear me to you or your candidate.

Second, what irritates me only slightly less than the lie, if not just as much, is your being a graceless, petulant c...ampaign drone about the endorsement. Just once, I’d like to see a campaign, when Palin endorses their opponent, say something like “Naturally, we’re disappointed. We think our guy, as the Tea Party guy, was the better choice for Sarah, but we understand our opponent has built a good relationship with her. And that’s okay. We hope to work with her in the future, but for now, we’re going to move forward with this campaign.” Which says a lot of the same stuff as you said without making you sound like a sore loser. I’m not a professional politico, I’ve honestly never even volunteered on a campaign, but I get this. And it drives me absolutely nuts that so many of the folks who draw paychecks for this do not. At least not when it comes to Palin.

Say what you like, Orrin Hatch is not stupid. He saw Bennett get beat for the nomination, he didn’t want that to happen to him, and he took steps to make sure it didn’t. He cultivated the Tea Party guys, he cultivated conservatives, and he cultivated Palin. And his supporting her and her family during the ugliness...considering how so much of the rest of the establishment has behaved toward her, that’s especially like water in the desert.

Palin was absolutely correct in her endorsement of Hatch.

He is hardly "dead wood", a phrase a maligner posts above.

Here's Orrin Hatch's 2011 voting record as posted on the American Conservative Union's (ACU) internet site. On a link, the ACU posts the names of the U.S. Senate's "Winners and Losers" according to its statistics and the senators voting records etched in the Congressional Record.

Those senators with a 100% (that's ONE HUNDRED PER CENT for those of you in Rio Linda) ACU rating are:

Coburn, DeMint, HATCH, Inhofe, R. Johnson, Lee, Rand Paul, Rubio, Vitter.

I'll take Hatch, warts and all, over a noobie with an insufficient and unsubstantiated record of conservative credentials and activity.....and I'm with Sarah 100% on her assessment of the two candidates.

Hatch's LIFELONG conservative ACU rating is 90%. This man is a valuable asset worth hanging on to for dear life.

Leni
