As President Obama and likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney remain locked in a virtual dead heat, is there any room for a third party to make a statement or even be competitive in 2012?
Thats the hope of the Constitution Party and its nominee, Virgil Goode.
Goode says Obamas spending is completely out of control but Republican proposals are also not good enough because he says the budget needs to be balanced now and not in a few years or a couple of generations from now.
I would submit a balanced budget if elected president, and it would be painful, Goode told WND.
He expects a fierce fight with Congress about cutting spending, but his plan would not focus on entitlement reforms. Instead, Goode envisions big cuts in discretionary spending both in the defense and domestic portions of the budget. When it comes to jobs, Goodes top priorities are to end illegal immigration and nearly put a stop to legal immigration in order to prevent foreign workers from competing with Americans for the job opportunities that exist.
Weve got to focus on discretionary spending, social-services programs. For instance, Ill make sure illegals and recent immigrants dont get food stamps, said Goode.
Goode says he would also seek to repeal Obama administration regulations that he says are stifling job creation. He would start with the Obama health care-laws which Goode considers the most repressive to job creators. The former congressman says he is not a spoiler in the race but is a much needed voice on fiscal responsibility, ending government programs for illegal immigrants and other issues.

You claim that, but that is not what is seen on this forum.
I see no significant difference between Romney and Obama
So what exactly is your purpose in campaigning vociferously against Romney on a conservative forum? What is the result you seek and how are your actions likely to contribute to this result?
I do not believe Mitt will win.
This is beside the point. Those who actively and emphatically denigrate Mitt's chances are not just expressing an opinion, they are seeking to ensure his defeat. People who deny this are irrational and/or liars.
You live in California. Do you think your vote for Romney in the November election is going to amount to a hill of beans?
In California we have no skin in the game. Obama will take California in a landslide. By voting for Romney we are simply giving him a mandate to continue his liberal social engineering that he started in Massachusetts.
Romney will probably win in November but he ain't gonna win in California and he ain't gonna win with my vote. There is no way I can vote for an abortion loving homosexual lobby loving knee jerk liberal like Romney. I have to answer to God for my vote. Not you. I'm not going to sacrifice what I believe in on the altar of expediency. Romney should have run as a Democrat. He's one of them. He is not one of us.
This thread is a pro-Goode thread. That being said, why don't you ask Jim Robinson what his purpose is in campaigning against Romney on his forum. He has been posting anti-Romney screeds for the last two years and more.
This is a conservative forum. Romney is not now nor has he ever been a conservative.
So what exactly are you doing on a Conservative forum carrying water for a committed abortion loving, homosexual supporting, liberal, socialist, statist?
More spew. Ho hum.
I think a Romney first term starting next January will be better for America than an Obama second term.
Period.
I also think that a unified and confident conservative movement that seeks the election of Republicans to every office up and down the ballot nationwide, and then demands and receives conservative policies and appointments everywhere is the obvious strategy for success.
All of this hysteria and deliberate division is beneath a movement that counts Rush Limbaugh, Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, Lech Walesa, Vaclav Havel, Pope John Paul II, and George S. Patton among its heroes.
The amount of sobbing, hand-wringing, temporizing, and just flat out BS I’ve seen out of self-described “conservatives” over the last few weeks and months has been a disgrace.
This is politics, the art of the possible. It is not about anybody’s conscience or standing in the eyes of God. There is a menu, one orders from the menu, and then one moves forward seeking practical results. All of this preening and agonizing just makes conservatives look crazy, un-serious, and weak, and makes us more likely to be marginalized and ignored.
One has to wonder if we in America are willing to do just that? We are left in America with a mere remnant of the Christian Nation that God has blessed in the past. Government has replaced religion as the primary source of Charity and I believe that more Americans now look to their government as their source of hope and the supplier of their needs than look to God.
I believe that God gave us Obama because that is what we, as Americans, wanted. Americans wanted a Savior of flesh and his campaign of "Hope" gave Americans a hope that Obama would be their political and social savior.
I see too many Christians who have bought into the idea that Romney can now save us from the curse that is Obama. But Obama is not the source of the curse that we are under. God is the source and Obama is merely his instrument. I do believe that if Christians turn to Romney as their source of "Hope" then 4 years of Romney will give us nothing better than the 4 years that God has given us of Obama.
Your scripture is right on the money. We must humble ourselves, pray and seek his face and turn from our evil ways. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. The GOP has voted for a candidate who has been committed to ensuring that the abortion holocaust continues and who has been committed to destroying the sanctity of marriage by giving homosexual couples the same standing to adopt children as hetrosexual married couples. Indeed, if Romney's ideas on homosexuality are adopted by this nation, then heterosexual married Christian couples will be prohibited from adopting children because they will be considered unworthy bigots and dangerous to the upbringing of their own children, let alone the children of others.
Romney is not our savior. If either Romney or Obama is elected in 2012 then I suspect we are going to be in for another rough 4 years. And if Romney is elected, then we will not have the opportunity of getting a true conservative president until 2020.
EVERYTHING we do on this planet is about conscience and our standing in the eyes of God.
In case you hadn't noticed, Free Republic is not only a conservative forum, but is a PRO GOD forum. If you don't believe that your actions on this earth have spiritual consequences, then you are on the wrong forum.
All of this preening and agonizing just makes conservatives look crazy, un-serious, and weak, and makes us more likely to be marginalized and ignored.
We are Gideon's army. I am not agonizing about anything. I am preparing for the battle.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12
Look, if Romney on LIVE video doesn’t convince someone then they’re on some kind of mission, and it’s one on which you probably don’t want to go. LOL!
I for one have never seen such verbal and even psychological contortions that have to take place to sell this Romney critter, all in the face of LIVE video which proves he is “no sale”. ROTFL!
The day is come when evil is called good, and good is called evil. This, among Christians! The excuse is that there is this greater evil out there, so I gotta go with this other evil, and try to convince others to go with me for this other evil. Unbelievable.
Top it off with the fact that the socialist Republican Party get rewarded for stiffing us, again, but ENCOURAGED to keep on stiffing us, getting no message whatsoever, again, that we’re done with playing the role of Pavlov’s dogs!
I see there are plenty of those around willing to play that role, again.
We have Romney’s record just as we have BHO’s record, that’s all we have.
Romney is a liberal.
I don’t vote for liberals.
If your choice is liberalism, it’s on you not me.
This is exactly the kind of crazy crap I'm talking about.
You need to come back down to earth.
We're trying to keep a republic here.
Jesus wept.
Nonsense. We also have context.
More dishonesty.
I have said forthrightly that I think a Romney first term starting in 2013 will be more conservative than an Obama second term starting then, and that these are almost certainly the only two choices before us.
Instead of discussing these simple, straightforward concepts honestly you lie again and again and again.
This whole Mitt Hater cult thing you folks have going is quite simply a disgrace.
If I ever found myself being forced by my ideology to lie or play dumb I would get a new ideology.
” All of this hysteria and deliberate division is beneath a movement that counts Rush Limbaugh, Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, Lech Walesa, Vaclav Havel, Pope John Paul II, and George S. Patton among its heroes. “
Woops, sorry to butt in here, but a few of those names would wretch publically with your assertion, trying to attribute the same cowardice and fear to them (similar to the Romeny voters) which they never possessed, given that these men were men, who did not shrink from “division”, for whatever “hysteria” it may have caused to the other side.
Pope John Paul II taught against using improper means to an end. Do you understand what that means? If you want something, you can not use unconscienable means to get whatever it is you think you want. You can not be complicit with evil, IN ANY MEASURE. PERIOD.
Now you take ole Romney here. You *think* he is less evil than Obama guy, so you want him to win, on a wing and a prayer that he will do less harm than Obama guy.
But your own eyes, and ears have seen and heard. Romney has that dang record (and LIVE VIDEO) of saying and doing the same evil but in a smaller space. (MASSACHUSETTS) It was evil, it struck at religious liberty of Catholic institutions there, same as Obama, and which we will all be protesting on “Fortnight”.
Get a clue.
All Christians know that every man is a sinner.
To vote is to vote for someone who sins.
Cut the crap already.
Idiocy is hard. Do you sweat?
A sin can be failing in your prayers, neglecting to help a fallen neighbor when you could have and should have.
EVIL is such Godlessness that you have the power to place children with queers and do so. It’s having the power to create a mandate forcing Catholic institutions to pay for abortion services abhorrent to all true Christians and you do so.
Support Romney and you are an accessory to his known crimes.
You know these things but are not informed, or mature enough, on Christianity to accept any responsibilities to the faith. Now you know, and you are responsible. Scripture quoting does not abbrogate those responsibilities. Sometime you’re going to have to stand in fear whether you like it or not, and do what is right, in fear, whether you like it or not because we’re going to suffer justly and our salvation depends on it.
In one post you say to absolutely shun evil “in any measure”.
In your very next post you appoint yourself the drawer of bright lines demarcating acceptable from unacceptable, out on the field of human action.
And I’m the idiot.
Got it.
Who said there is? Only an idiot would claim that there has been such a Person in any election since Barabbas ran against Jesus. Which makes your comment a classic straw man argument, of course.
Every vote is a compromise of principle.
No it isn't. Apparently you're just not familiar with the concept.
you pretend to think that this election is somehow different.
Again, there is only one person in this conversation who is pretending, and it isn't me. This election is different. Mitt Romney is the most liberal governor in the history of the United States, and now lies constantly about it. And, using the crudest and most cynical means, you're trying to coerce folks into violating their consciences by supporting what is anathema to everything they believe, everything they stand for, in the public arena.
You, and those like you, are taking American politics to new depths of unprincipled depravity.
Frederick Muhlenberg changed his mind and joined the army after watching the British burn his church.
Unlike his brother, he thought he could compromise.
He was wrong.
