One has to wonder if we in America are willing to do just that? We are left in America with a mere remnant of the Christian Nation that God has blessed in the past. Government has replaced religion as the primary source of Charity and I believe that more Americans now look to their government as their source of hope and the supplier of their needs than look to God.

I believe that God gave us Obama because that is what we, as Americans, wanted. Americans wanted a Savior of flesh and his campaign of "Hope" gave Americans a hope that Obama would be their political and social savior.

I see too many Christians who have bought into the idea that Romney can now save us from the curse that is Obama. But Obama is not the source of the curse that we are under. God is the source and Obama is merely his instrument. I do believe that if Christians turn to Romney as their source of "Hope" then 4 years of Romney will give us nothing better than the 4 years that God has given us of Obama.

Your scripture is right on the money. We must humble ourselves, pray and seek his face and turn from our evil ways. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. The GOP has voted for a candidate who has been committed to ensuring that the abortion holocaust continues and who has been committed to destroying the sanctity of marriage by giving homosexual couples the same standing to adopt children as hetrosexual married couples. Indeed, if Romney's ideas on homosexuality are adopted by this nation, then heterosexual married Christian couples will be prohibited from adopting children because they will be considered unworthy bigots and dangerous to the upbringing of their own children, let alone the children of others.

Romney is not our savior. If either Romney or Obama is elected in 2012 then I suspect we are going to be in for another rough 4 years. And if Romney is elected, then we will not have the opportunity of getting a true conservative president until 2020.

With Romney elected, we become the base for a party of gun grabbing, baby killing, tax raising, healthcare ransoming, homosexual advocating, bailout delivering republicans. Not only is that not the place for us, but the democrats already have that market cornered. With eight years of Romney followed by a democrat hand-off for another eight, we won't have a shot at a conservative president until 2028. Ugh.

Precisely so. Below is how I see America and indeed all Western Culture these days, with emphasis:

People who call themselves Christian and actually take God seriously, can in no way participate in or endorse homosexual behavior or any other form of sexual deviancy - all the more so those who occupy a position of religious authority. It is a visible symptom of people who have rejected God:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

The chapter continues listing other symptoms of the reprobate mind which closely parallel 2 Tim 3.

I aver it does no good for people who do not take God seriously to pray for the healing of this country. We need Spiritual renewal first; we must be convicted of our sins to turn from our wicked ways.

It always comes down to "Who do you believe?" - God, self, relative, authority, committee, counsel, etc.

As long as Americans are mostly not believing God, the country will continue to decline because it is way beyond anything that can be repaired by mere mortal men.

The one thing I was praying for throughout the primary was a President who would kneel on his knees before God, one I could join in pray for this country. Perry was my guy because he had a history of doing just that. But it was not to be.

God has another plan. And He has been known to use even pagans to accomplish His will, e.g. Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar - and people who are set against His will, e.g. Herod, Caiaphas and obviously, Paul.

Future events are obscured from me and I have no apparently viable potential President to join in prayer. Obama doesn't kneel and pray to God - and his administration is the most anti-Christian, anti-Israel, pro-Islam known to me. And I do not recognize the God of LDS teaching, so I cannot join in Romney's prayers either.

But I can and do join in prayer with you and my other brothers and sisters in Christ who take God seriously even though we are not unified (yet) in how to vote this year.

People of good conscience before God can disagree. God can also use those disagreements to accomplish His will as He did with Paul and Barnabas.

Again, this country is way beyond anything that can be repaired by mere mortal men - then again, maybe it is not to be repaired.
