If someone is renouncing their citizenship and leaving the US because of taxes, opposition to war or for whatever reason all I can say is don't let the door hit you in the ass. Cant feel much sympathy if the get clipped by a 30% tax on the way out..

Cant feel much sympathy if the get clipped by a 30% tax on the way out. ...unless/until it's YOU deciding it's time to jump ship because your values are declared illegal & actionable, and the fruit of your labor is confiscated to empower the elite & lazy, and whatever change could persuade you leaving is better than complying or revolting.
Like the "papers, please" catch phrase once code for oppression and now an accepted patriotic demand, "30% exit tax" is a sure sign a nation is moving toward hardcore totalitarianism. It may not affect you per se, but is a warning that something wicked this way comes.

Cant feel much sympathy if the get clipped by a 30% tax on the way out.. If you approve of this sort of tax, you pretty much acknowledge that all of your property belongs to the government, and you just possess it until they decide to take it.
Don't get me wrong. I think Saverin has exposed himself as a man without a moral foundation. Who aspires to US citizenship and then renounces it? Eduardo Saverin, apparently. He's an international douche.

When I was a young man conservatives despised Americans who renounced their citizenship, and wished them all kinds of ill fortune.
