Hillary Clinton will be the 2012 veep candidate
The Washington Times ^ | May 20, 2012 | Joseph Curl

Show of hands: Who here still thinks Vice President Joseph R. Biden will be on the 2012 ticket?

Really? All of you? So wrong. The Great One, Sir Barack Hussein Obama, will replace the bumbling, buffoonish Mr. Biden with Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, maybe at the Democratic convention, maybe just before, in a last-ditch effort to win re-election.

The wild and crazy move is all the talk outside the Beltway. One state Democratic leader even tells me the bumper stickers are already printed, sitting in a warehouse in (where else?) Little Rock, Ark. Another party bigwig says she is “99.9 percent sure” the increasingly desperate president planned the whole thing from the beginning. (“C’mon, Hill, be Secretary of State for one term and I’ll make you veep the next!”)

Step back a minute: What does the president get from keeping Punxsutawney Putz on the ticket? Zippy the chimp. But if he bails on Mr. Biden, picks a woman — bam, base enthusiasm goes through the roof, women come out of the woodwork to vote (for Mrs. Clinton, not for Mr. Obama), and it’s 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for another four years. (Plus, Joe becomes Secretary of State, because, really now, he wouldn’t know what to do if he wasn’t living off the government teat, would he?)

Back to the president’s desperation. As The Washington Times laid out last week, Mr. Obama’s re-election is no lock. “Many models show President Obama with a likely base of 252 electoral votes out of the 270 needed to win,” the paper said. Nice lead. He’s got a hold of the West Coast, the Northeast minus New Hampshire, plus most likely Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii (although some of those are still considered in play)...

Okay - just for grins let’s assume it ends up being Joe and Hillary. Do they win? Somehow I can’t see BO turning over his warchest of $ to them. I am still getting emails in my “Possible SPAM” in-box from Bill asking for financial assistance to pay off Hillary’s bills left over from her last run. How do you see all of this shaking out?

Hillary would be better off without Obama on the ticket. Maybe she’ll challenge him at the convention.

I agree completely, what’s the upside for her. Zero loses she loses, Zero wins the country’s so screwed up she takes part of the blame.

If I’m her (a horrid thought believe me) I roll the dice and help Zero ......lose and get to look like a star in 2016.

Actually, with the right ads, Romney could get some mileage out of this. This would make Obama seem even more desperate and incompetent than he already is.

Exactly. The Clinton’s didn’t want him to win in 2008 and nothing has changed.

Well, I still think this could be a remote possibility as well:

Thinking she won't run with him is wishful thinking. It would almost guarantee him re-election in 2012, and her the White House in 2016. Trying to point out she would "eliminate" him before 2016 for a position she would already have locked in will only make us look silly when it doesn't happen.

We need to prepare ourselves for the very real possibility of facing an Obama/Clinton ticket in 2012. Posting conspiracy theories won't stop it. We need to have answers ready.

It’ll happen. It’s a done deal. The signs are everywhere. And it might work.

Omg did you see the front page of USA today I think it was Friday? They had her looking like Benjamin Franklin with headlines about how no -nonsense her "foreign policy" is.

they write the script, and the movie really sucks.

Palin would be the perfect counter.

Seriously. She’s naturally likable, relatable, even gritty. She’s not as Beck framed it “a monocle away from being the Monopoly guy”. Romney is, unfortunately.

Romney also is, smart. He gets winning.

Palin is the anti-Romney. She’s about individualism. Sensibility. Doing what is right. She’s patriotic, and she’s downright INSPIRING.

Palin would energize Romney’s campaign, just like she did McCain’s.

She’s the perfect complement to Romney’s moderation.

It is my understanding that the House of Representatives counts and confirms the Electoral college votes for President and the Senate counts and confirms the Electoral College votes for Vice President. If there are no electoral college votes for a Democrat Party candidate for VPOTUS then the Republican Party candidate will win the VPOTUS office because that candidate will have the most Electoral college votes for that office. It is possible to have a president and vice president from different parties, or from no established parties. It all depends on who can win the most electoral college votes. Right now though, the two main political parties have a lock on those EC votes and have had control of those votes for a rather long time.

These are my thoughts, as well.

Running with Hillary will surely kickstart the anti-Rmoney segment of voters on the right. Maybe even around here ;)

Scares the crap out of me....because it could work. A demoralized party and all those disaffected Hillary supporters will come charging back. And Mittens would get steamrolled. Putting off any substantial home improvements and other big expenditures until after November 6th. If he’s re-elected, we as a country are toast.
