New York City council speaker Christine Quinn has married her longtime partner Kim Catullo on Saturday in a private ceremony on a sunny, warm spring evening.
The city council's first openly gay speaker and Catullo were walked down the aisle by their fathers. Quinn wore a gown made by designer Carolina Herrera. Catullo, a lawyer, wore a cream silk suit designed by Ralph Lauren.
The theme of the wedding was 'Spring in New York,' and was inspired by the High Line city park, around the corner from the venue in Manhattan's Chelsea neighbourhood.

Among the guests in attendance were Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as well as Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer.
It was a private end to a public battle over the right for same-sex marriage. Quinn, along with many others, lobbied for the law that New York passed last summer.

Ewwwwwww.
It’s like the time of Caligula, everybody thinks about copulating 24/7
From the picture of the couple, we know WHO WEARS THE PANTS.
Nice basement... err, church. No, that’s a basement.
This makes me want to walk around with a sign saying “The end is near!”
That's what I don't understand about lesbianism. There is always the one who pretends to be the "man" and the other is the girl.
If you want a man....then be with a man!
Houston has had an openly gay mayor for several years. Her name is Aniece Parker. Talk show host Michael Berry always calls her Anice Porker. That cracks me up!
These gals and friends can pretend all they wish, but their play-acting does not constitute marriage.
I'll be so glad when mature, capable adults are running this country again. Developmentally-challenged people playing dress-up just won't cut it for me.
Gee. Golly. Aren’t they just...........adorable.
I can’t understand that part either.
I've noticed that, too. Without going into details, I was staying in a hotel room with a couple of other women, who were watching a show about lesbians on HBO. I tried to ignore it... but still saw enough to realize exactly how far lesbians go to pretend that one is a man.
That experience convinced me that lesbianism is not based so much on a genuine woman-woman attraction, but on a deep rooted fear of men. They do want relationships with men, but are so afraid of them that they try to substitute other women playing the part of men for actual men. I think something similar may be occurring with gay men.
White is NOT a good color for thunder thighs.
This city council person is a front runner in the next mayor election in New York.
I’m sure it will make homosexual history when they can claim that the mayor of America’s largest city is gay, and legally married as well.
There, fixed it for you.
You are right. They do the same thing.
I've read that many strippers, men and women, who strip for the opposite sex are gay.
It's like living in the "Darkside". Not sure if you are familiar w/ that series, but the intro to the series is "opposite". Black is white, white is black, everything is upside down.

Houston’s gay mayor may already be married. I remember something about it when some state New Hampshire ? maybe, allowed gay couples to marry. But of course coming from NY it will make bigger news.
wasn’t that Milk character a gay mayor in SF
