You are right about one thing: Romney IS a shifter. In fact, he’s a part of a very large shift in what is supposed to be the major “conservative” party. You know, the constant leftward shift of Republican presidential candidates since Reagan? Seriously, look at it. The early “statists”, Bush I and Dole? Bush II, the man of illegal amnesty and the dude that rewrote education “reforms” with Ted Kennedy? Then McCain? Now Romney? Yes, there is some shifting.

Even worse, when many of these national level Republicans take office, they “shift” even farther left. With Romney already sitting RINO land, what’s he going to look like when he “shifts”?

But hey, it’s all about DEFEATING the democrats, right? After all, when Republican Dede Scozzafava lost to the Tea Partier, she backed her, right? Oh, that’s right, she endorsed the DEMOCRAT. Establishment Republicans hate conservatives MORE than they hate Democrats.

By continuously voting for non-conservative Republicans, the only thing that you are guaranteeing is the continuous trip left for what SHOULD be the conservative opposition party. Whereas Democrat rule is shooting Lady Liberty in the face, you are ensuring that she only suffers a stab wound. Sure, she might get a few more extra breaths in before she passes, but she’s still dead.

No thank you. If standing for the Constitution is the “high horse”, then I’ll ride it proudly. I’ll leave you with your preferred animal: the RINO.

Just please, don’t stay home. Go out and vote for the true conservatives in congress. You can write in Mickey Mouse or any other candidate for president. We’ve GOT to maintain our hold on the House and the finances, and we’ve got to get the Senate. That is almost more important than the presidency for now. Please don’t just stay home.
