The text editor of the 1991 literary agency booklet that described Barack Obama as born in Kenya said Thursday the line in question was nothing more than a fact checking error.
Miriam Goderich issued a statement to the Political Wire saying the future president never suggested in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii:
Youre undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.

“Nothing to see here, folks! Move along now...”
There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.
This statement doesn't even pass the sniff test. Where then, did this young literary assistant get the idea that Obama was born in Kenya? Obama was, at the time, a nobody. No reporting even mentioning Obama had yet taken place. Still, from out of the blue, this young "assistant" states Obama was born in Kenya. He was provided this biographical data from the publisher, who got it from Obama - plain and simple.
Obama is a fraud, a treasonous rat bas$u%d and Kenyan.
Yeah that’s it, that’s the ticket!
We invested tens of thousands of dollars in a marketing booklet, and did not proofread the content for spelling, grammar, and correct content
P-P-P-P-Ping!
Why didn’t obamma have it corrected then?
So, if a “literary agent,” was writing something up about me, he or she might enter that I was Swedish and then go back and “fact check” it later? Instead of saying, “Where are you from?” And this “literary agent” just happened to put down Kenya as the country to “fact check” at a later time.
Nope! It doesn’t pass the smell test.
I guess Obama’s paternal grandma who said she saw him born in Kenya, must also be a mere fact checking error, too.
Well if this is all true we have been deceived by our own party also. Who would they not bring this to light in 2008?
‘If Obama never said he was born in Kenya, then where did that idea even come from within that literary agency?’
Oh, come on, it is easy and a simple mistake. Look what it says; the first AFRICAN American president of the Harvard Law Review. See it. Anyone would assume Kenya upon reading those words.
Paging Pelosi and Germond...
It’s time for your fitting for the orange jumpsuits.

“The “Official Certification of Nomination” that was presented by the DNC in all fifty states for the 2008 Presidential election, in which Barack Hussein Obama became the new President of the United States, was almost identical, and it too was singed by Chair of the DNC Convention and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, DNC Secretary Alice Travis Germond and Notary of Public Shalifa A. Williamson, dated August 28, 2008.”

‘Seems there has been a lot of fact checking avoided over the decades of Obama’s ascendance.’
Another of the high and magic powers of Barack Obama. If he had not come along we would never have known of the ineptness of the media and journalists. He has exposed all their mistakes and it is ironic all the mistakes involve him; ie, his bio, his associations, his economic reports etc..
If not, doing so a couple of decades later is pure Bravo Sierra!!
Hey, he wants to live. Completely understandable.
He was still born in Kenya during his Senate seat theft.
Fact-checking is, by definition, reactive. A fact-checking error can only mean that information was given and it was not fact-checked. If that is the case, the editor had to be given Kenya as the birthplace and it was not discredited by research.
I don’t think Drudge would run with this is there wasn’t more to it.
Obviously, “Birthers” time traveled back to 1991 and planted this promotional booklet because they somehow knew Obama would some day be President.
I heard she was typing “Kansas” or “Kentucky” or “Konnecticut” when the phone rang and she was distracted, and she typed “Kenya” in by accident.
The phone call was from Karl Rove, by the way.
HE did it.
