Lady Gaga might have to cancel her sold-out show in Indonesia because Islamic hard-liners and conservative lawmakers objected.
National police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said the permit was denied for the June 3 "Born This Way" concert that was to be the biggest show on her Asian tour.

Things are more or less the same here; more signs in foreign languages, but functioning businesses are better than shuttered storefronts.

Yup, my buddy in Jakarta, an English bloke, big guy, loves beer and football and has the bluff, no-nonsense manner of his native Yorkshire, so you might not at first realise he is gay, lives with his partner, an Indonesian Chinese Buddhist, in a house in a Jakarta suburb.
He informs me that far and away the best gay “scene” in Asia is in Jakarta.
But but but doesn’t ANYBODY there know how evolved and liberal she is?
Lots of little strip malls that used to have little businesses in them, nail salons, pet grooming places etc. and my favorite Chinese take-out joint all gone, closed up. ‘’For Lease’’. Don’t see many illegals though. Yup, things are looking up (s.)
I realize that Muslims are killing Christians as we write, but I was only stating the ally part on this particular instance about Lady GAGME. Her performances should have been viewed only in the confinds of a stripper club. The U.S. has been declining at a rapid pace since we have allowed our children to attend concerts and shows with such overt acts of the sexual nature. I would by no means partner with any Islamic persons or groups in a religeous setting.
