No, I have never thought of that. Why would God want an individual to rise to the highest office in the land, if he will lead the people in rebellion against God himself?
For myself, I will put my life on the line for the proposition that the last thing that is in the interests of God, is the election of Willard Romney. That is how certain I am.
Perhaps you can explain this from a Romney supporter's point of view.
The permissive and desirous will of God aren’t identical entities (except to extreme Calvinists).
Few, let alone God, are truly “desirous” of Mitt Romney as a president. But perhaps even from a divine perspective, Mitt the unbeliever is more auspicious than Obama the unbeliever. The fatal flaw would be to view Mitt as anything more than a stop gap, just like the Hebrews in Egypt ultimately suffered when a system of Pharoahs that never did acknowledge the Hebrew God turned on them even though that first Pharoah was very friendly.
You and God seem pretty close ......What was he thinking when Obama was inaugurated?
