Now that Democrats have ended their divisive recall primary in Wisconsin, one would expect the polling to show their nominee to be gaining some traction against sitting Governor Scott Walker. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was considered the stronger of the Democrats challenging Walker in the unusual recall election, and polls just after the recall showed him nearly within the margin of error of the incumbent. This week, however, a new poll from We Ask America of over 1200 likely voters puts Walker on top by nine, 52/43:
While other polls also show Walker in the lead, no one is suggesting that this race is anywhere near over. Walker only leads among self-described Independent voters by 47.6%-44.6%, and the underlying numbers seem fluid. Still, some of Walkers detractors have been vocal about the fact that Walker was duly elected in 2010 and in most states would not be able to be challenged with a recall without greater cause. And a whopping 95% of those called said they plan to vote in the June 5th election which will have the national spotlight on it.

Great news!
I think the second and third benches of the Wisconsin democrat party ... whoever they may be ... are rooting for a Walker win, so that they will not have to face an incumbant Gov. Barrett in 2014.
HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... this is just too sweet. This recall IMHO is backfiring big time. The unionista had such good news coverage during the “occupy our beautiful capital building” last year, disgusting police did NOT make those squatters leave or clean up after themselves. Cost us millions for that mess. 14 Dem senators fled to Illinois during open senate session. Didn’t go over well.
The wind was totally taken out of their sails when last week, 626,000 GOP turned out to vote FOR Walker in a meaningless primary for Walker against a fake GOP primary rival. There was NO reason for this many people to show up to vote last week, but we could not WAIT to vote for him to show our support and we’ll do it again June 5.
Everyone from total strangers and even relatives that normally do NOT talk politics here in WI are bringing up this Walker recall. We are all hacked off for the waste of money and time. Unions can go pound sand. NO one has one ounce of sympathy for them, as every one sees now how the SEIU and the Teacher’s Unions WEAC have been taking us taxpayers for a ride. And the final straw for the labor unions here in WI was when the Dems stopped a mine from being allowed to open in Northern Wisconsin for thousands of new jobs.
So....... just TOO sweet. Do NOT let up, folks - here in Wisconsin - get out the vote, get your 5 extra pro Walker neighbors / relatives to the polls on June 5. We’ll show them what this state is made of.
Just too funny to see the Dems spinning like this.
You are a president of a local for a private company? If so would you mind adding some commentary about if we will see a split between unions for government employees and unions for private company employees?
I can’t fathom why anyone who works for a private company especially in heavy industry, mining, and manufacturing would ever support the party that is dedicated to wiping out our industrial base. Please help me understand.
The rats will have abandoned WI by then. This is great, great, great - although knocking on wood.
President Walker. He’s the guy who can hold Romney’s feet to the fire NOW instead of Mittens having to face a primary in 2016. And then still Primary Romney!
I’m getting overly excited here....
June will be brutal for Obama.
1) Walker wins
2) Obamacare struck down by Supremes
3) Arizona HB 1070 immigration bill upheld by Supremes
4) No improvement in the economy
Let’s not forget that voter ID was upheld by the 9th Circuit already in Arizona. Time will not be bracious to this Marxist socialist lying cheating slob.
I’m sure there will be more, but put a fork in it Obama is cooked. As long as our side shows up to vote he will lose by 65/35. ‘FRaid so!
Union: An extinct labor extortion racket that existed in the United States from the 1930’s until 2012. They ceased to exist after committing all of their resources to a failed attempt to remove Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker from office.
After that election officials in virtually every other state moved quickly to scale back their power and influence.
Obama is going to expect and demand that the DNC throw everyone else under the bus if thats what it takes to get him re-elected.
Me, me, me, me...............................................................................................................................
They only get swing per term.
Sure hope that is the case. I know some labor union friends of mine are SOOOOOOO over Obama and are VERY PRO-Walker. These are retired, but very loyal labor union fellows.
They admit the union bosses are begging them for money and even they are telling the union bosses to forgetaboutit.
From your lips to God’s ear.
Great FReeper-on-the-ground report. Keep updating us. Thank you.
Or Obama is distancing himself from a losing cause and still hopes to win WI in November.
Having thunk on it for a while I guess it does make sense. Walker up a ton among Pubs. Up 3 among indys, Down less than a ton among rats. Average is +9.
Woo-hoo!
Maybe the “WI Dims” should ask the unions/Communist Party USA for some bucks to finance their “recall” fiasco. Go Gov. Walker!!!!!!!
WI Dims = “”Fast and Furious” is a way of life up here”. Idiots
Where will all the WI Union parasites and their money go when the host finally expels them?
Big lol here!!! The honchos of the trough feeder unions are having conniption fits. The actual union members who no longer have to pay exorbitant union dues....many are voting for Gov Walker
