About two hours after declaring his support for same-sex marriage last week, President Obama gathered eight or so African-American ministers on a conference call to explain himself. He had struggled with the decision, he said, but had come to believe it was the right one.
The ministers, though, were not all as enthusiastic. A vocal few made it clear that the presidents stand on gay marriage might make it difficult for them to support his re-election.
They were wrestling with their ability to get over his theological position, said the Rev. Delman Coates, the pastor of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, Md., who was on the call.
In the end, Mr. Coates, who supports civil marriages for gay men and lesbians, said that most of the pastors, regardless of their views on this issue, agreed to work aggressively on behalf of the presidents campaign. But not everyone. Gay marriage is contrary to their understanding of Scripture, Mr. Coates said. There are people who are really wrestling with this.

Of course they will. Lifelong firmly held beliefs don’t really mean anything anyway, do they?

It's ok because the likes of Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson are going to expose their true hypocritical selves again.

Looks like it is not just Jewish hotdog manufacturers who “answer to a higher power” These theologians know and accept it, including the Divine perspective on homosexuals.

If they are OK with a gay marxist as president, why would they be shocked to find out he’s for gayism and marxism?

This means nothing. All those churches will vote for him. He could ban Biblical passages against homosexuality from print, and they’d still vote for him, just as American Jews... overwhelmingly liberal lot they are... would vote for Obama even if he took a whiz on the wailing wall.

REQUEST: Somebody kindly Freepmail me or open post (Freepmail preferred) the names and telephone numbers of each of those eight African American pastors stateside, and I will call EACH and every one of them from Asia individually over the next week, and passionately explain that they should drop any support of President Obama in 2012 -- even if they remain neutral if they cannot support the GOP and also oppose this from the pulpit -- over this hot issue, and accordingly for them to go with established Sacred Christian Scripture, decency and morality. I will do it. I mean, I WILL DO IT. (And report the results back to FR, without naming them individually.)

Black enthusiasm to vote, which was already low at 48%, HAD to have taken a big hit last week. Anyone who thinks Blacks will show up in the numbers they did in 2008 has to provide data to back that up.
