If all VanderSloot did was make threats against “little guys” who were mad about his big donations, he's now playing in the big leagues and has found out that both sides fight hard. Money can buy lots of things, but it can't buy freedom from critics — and shouldn't.

You three need to buy a clue as to the nature of the enemy.

The Left's collective heads were EXPLODING for years about Nixon's "enemies list". They still fulminate about it to this day as an example of Teh Evul Repukes.

Obama has an enemies list. VanderSloot is going to get audited by the IRS, just like all of Bill Clinton's enemies did, and the media won't call the Chicago Punk on it.

Remember - if Bush had had his enemies audited by the IRS, there would have been millions of words and thousands of articles published about it. But it's okay if the Democommies do it...

Spectator, I have no illusions about the nature of liberalism. Attack audits, building code compliance reviews targeting political opponents, and similar issues are abuses of government power which have a long history in Chicago politics going way back before Obama moved to that city.

As far as I can tell, to date, all that has been done against VanderSloot is the same sort of thing that we would applaud if it were being done by conservative opposition researchers to a major liberal donor.

We have every right in the world to know the political and ideological and business backgrounds of major donors to a political campaign. It shows the sort of people who back a candidate, and gives important clues to who will influence the candidate if elected.

Let me repeat here: I'm not saying this because I supported Santorum against Romney. I like VanderSloot’s views on homosexual marriage. I don't like his choice of candidate for president, but since the Republican race is all but over, Romney needs all the financial backing he can get.

Frankly, I think it's more than ironic that Romney is being attacked by Obama as being supported by militant anti-gay wealthy donors. What is Obama’s goal? Convince people like me, who don't like Romney, to vote for him because even if Romney is a “Massachusetts moderate,” he has big backers like VanderSloot who will keep Romney from being liberal on homosexual issues?

Don’t go hysterical.
No one is denying nobama wants to be a tyrant or he is and will do anything to get re-elected. No one has any doubt if he can get re-elected we will all pay a terible price.

I was not addressing the dirty politics aspect, just the business they focussed on. The company named in the thread sure looks to be one to stay away from even if it wasn’t attacked by the left. Do you dispute that?

This is the King’s displeasure and it will grow.

We are turning into subjects.

Hussian is a public figure and president. Attacking citizens is poor form. If he attacks any one of us, he can attack us all and no one is safe.
