In a revealing new book, The Amateur, author Edward Klein interviews President Barack Obama’s physician, Dr. David Scheiner, MD, who blasts the president’s health care plan and says that President Obama has an “academic detachment” that he could never break through.

The doctor fears that if the health care plan is “the failure” he believes it will be, because of runaway costs and other problems, then any health reform will be set back for years to come.

These are only a few of many reveals in Klein’s book, which makes the case that President Obama is not the political machine that people fear, but an amateur with a messianic complex who is completely out of his depth.

There was a huge scandal in Ontario, e-Health, about a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. That's just one problem with government health care. But you're right -- once these personalized files get computerized, it's anyone's guess where they'll end up.

Is the term “Narcissistic Sociopath” a redundancy?

That's what I don't get.

They may be distinct conditions: sociopaths are bad because the wiring between their ears is awry, or some essential cog or gland or something is malfunctioning. Maybe it's a genetic thing or result of disease or injury, but physical tissue is involved.

I think of Narcissistic disorder as arising from bad experiences during development: overly permissive or absent parenting, hostility or resentment of parent toward kid. Their may be a genetic predisposition, but it's mainly environmental. These people would grow up with a sense of emptiness, devoid of true self worth that they're trying to repair. I don't know, but I suspect this condition is on the upswing-- as society deteriorates.

I'm no shrink or anything, so this is speculation, but I see it as a nature/nurture difference. If this is so, I would tend to believe that 'bam belongs in the latter category. It's an Occam's Razor thing.

Repeat, these are just musings. I didn't mention drug use, and that would bump him to the former.

In any case, he's damaged goods.

So if we could somehow stimulate the psychopath’s brain so it would behave in a normal fashion, we could get rid of a large portion of violent crimes.

In the general population 1-2% of the population is psychopathic. In those incarcerated or violent crimes, the percentage increases to over 50%.

But not all psychopaths are criminals. Some are in business, like Bernie Madoff.

As for me Obama is a puppet for his enablers who want to destroy the strength and exceptionalism of the USA. Among these are his Chicago enablers, people such as Soros and international shakers and movers over the the years.

I've always thought that psychos have no empathy or emotional connection to other people. That would seem to be non-functional middle brain. Scary thought: a reptile with a very large cerebral cortex.

Amygdala is one area under study - That’s your lizard brain (meaning it is part of the brain found in lower life forms)

I also read somewhere the pre frontal cortex could be involved.

BS. You know too little about the University of Chicago. You may be thinking of Ayers's school, The University of Illinois at Chicago. People get them confused. At any rate, there was plainly too much of Occidental College in Obama.

People, don't you ever read? He was parked at the U of Chicago as an adjunct instructor at the request of outside powers-that-be while having his way prepared for state office. At the U of Chicago he participated in none of campus life, produced no scholarship, refused to hang out with or associate with the law school faculty. There he was as aloof and self-absorbed as he always has been.

Except for the student groups such as the Spartacus League and Lyndon LaRouche supporters, the U of Chicago is relatively apolitical. The cost of tuition and room and board keeps a lot of the riff-raff out. The rigor of the Core, especially back then, keeps out most of the rest (U of Chicago, compared to Yale, Harvard, and Princeton, has a high dropout and transfer rate because it's a really tough school--the undergrad courses are taught by the professors themselves, not graduate students, who may teach once or twice in a quarter). But even wealthy people are bound to have some goof balls as kids who get sent there--as I saw in the pot smoking anthro students who were in a science class for non-science majors I helped with or some whiners who tried to argue why they shouldn't have had to complete the assignment as given--I still have an email from one student somewhere that is hilarious. If he had just spent as much effort doing the work, he would have been okay.

He is completely divorced from the actual mechanics of our society and time-tested system of government, and does not have the ability to connect Cause to Effect.

Hey, Doc. Listen up. It's called Malignant Narcissism. It may look—and in some cases does look—like ‘academic detachment’—but what it actually is is an uber-Narcissist's natural state. A Narcissist detaches from his/her own feelings at an early age, and subsequently is not only incapable of feeling anything remotely close to empathy, they are also incapable of a normal range of human emotion. They can only feel satisfaction/pleasure and anger. That's why Obama speaks of the “reptilian side” of his brain. It's really the only ‘side’ he's able to get in touch with.

I googled up Reptile brain and got to the Wiki article “Triune Brain.” According to that article, the amygdala is in the “paleomamallian” portion,the ‘lymbic system’— responsible for emotional attachment and child-rearing. The reptile brain is called the ‘basal ganglia’ and is mainly associated with organ function, but also territorial imperative and aggression.

The pre-frontal cortex is associated with impulse control and calculations. Many criminals meet this description, but not all.

The model is simplistic, but when I think of psychopaths, cold, calculating and decisive. In other words, a smart reptile.

Like I say, I had to look all this up. I first picked it up in a book by Carl Sagan who made it fashionable— late ‘70’s I think.
I don’t think this is describes ‘bam very well. I don’t think a true psychopath would have made his mistakes; a psycho would pragmatically decide “this ain’t working,” and changed course. I think the seat of ‘bam’s illness is emotional— implying he has it.

Finally: ‘bam’s illness is commonplace and describes all liberals; they can’t change their minds. They’re impervious to their own experience. Deep down, they fear being wrong most of all, such a thing would cause their soul to collapse and disintegrate. We have entire generations of such people.

The campus was plenty Political, GALA being most “severe”. Outside of the Ryssian Civ profs, I also hadcNathan Tarcov for a worthwhile course in Diplomatic History.
