Thankfully, our long national nightmare is over:
Mitt Romney apologized on Thursday morning for pranks he helped orchestrate in high school that he said might have gone too far, including an incident in which he pinned down a fellow student and cut his hair.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee was responding to an article published a few hours earlier by The Washington Post documenting the episode with first-hand accounts from Romneys classmates.
Back in high school, I did some dumb things and if anybody was hurt by that or offended, obviously I apologize for that, Romney said in a live radio interview with Fox News Channel personality Brian Kilmeade. Romney added: I participated in a lot of hijinks and pranks during high school and some might have gone too far and for that, I apologize.
Romneys campaign hastily scheduled the radio interview for the candidate to call in from Omaha, where he is holding a campaign event later Wednesday, to respond to The Posts report.
Politically speaking, this was the smart thing to do. Other campaigns would have tried challenging the veracity of the stories and/or the motives of the witnesses, but that’s a losing proposition. The more a campaign debates those points, the longer the story goes, and the more legitimacy it has in the media. Instead, the Romney campaign made it an old story before it began to grow legs by just expressing remorse over any cruelty that may have taken place in high school.
I eagerly await the next set of stories about how in middle school Romney refused to give cuts in line to kids from low-income families, or how he shamelessly violated the “exies-no-erasies” rule in elementary school with his female classmates.

I dont call this a prank, I call it bullying, abuse, and assault. Yes; that's what rational people with a functional moral compass call it.
The same pattern has carried over into adulthood -- he pushed aside candidates who stand head and shoulders above him (e.g. Newt) by sheer force of dollars rather than honestly competing with their ideas.

Did he reveal this in Saturday detention with Judd Nelson and Emilio Estevez?

Good Lord.
I thought this was Semmens satire.
Is this what our elections have come to?
Paging John Semmens. Looks like reality is more of a satire, these days, then satire.

RE :”
Like I keep saying, Obamas done.
If this is the best they can pull out, how pathetic.”
After watching the GOP walk right into the birth control trap, then squirm around and go deeper into the quicksand before realizing they were caught in yet another trap, it's nice to see Obama trapped by his own liberal(progressive) base of his party for a change. I think they know this was not what they wanted.
On the Dem channel the libs who demanding that Obama ‘come out’ were rationalizing that there Will be no drawbacks to coming out in the November election for Obama and a few of them actually said that this will help him, as zealots always do. Matthews wasnt buying it.
And at the same time they were contradicting themselves by praising Obama for being ‘brave’. That is really laughable.

100% right. The conspiracy of the media is absolutely infuriating. I’m sure the prank was done because the kid bleached his hair and looked like an idiot...but of course the Post sticks “presumed gay” in there to charge Romney with a hate crime.
The media is beyond despicable.

America gonna peer into Mittens childhood when we cannot even see the college grades or admittance criteria for Hussein college days?

F Robama
Where is his apology for being a socialist POS?
Im not going to reflexively defend Robama because his fellow socialists decided to “attack” him.
Robama is a F’ing socialist and needs to be replaced during a BROKERED CONVENTION.

In the meantime, the WaPo exhibits absolutely ZERO INTEREST in Obamas past. No interest in his college days, his transcripts, what he wrote in school, etc.I'd still like to hear the first hand stories of Obama's manger scene.

And so it begins!!! Rather than coming out & blasting the hypocrisy of the demTurds & liberal media, for 0dumb0's past (& likely present) drug use, for not reporting or delving into 0dumb0's missing college transcripts, his phony birth certificate, attending a hate-filled racist church for 20 years & giving financial contributions, sealing any records pertaining to 0dumb0, instead Romney apologizes for some stupid high school pranks.
This is exactly why we needed Newt Gringich to be the GOP nominee, in order to publicly rebuke & point out the hypocrisy of the left.
Instead, in the best traditions of the GOP, Romney starts off his campaign appearances with the obligatory apologies, followed by a plea to talk to the "important issues" instead of realizing that the main issue is that of the hypocritical left. That is what Romney needs to blast from the roof tops.

“I think they know this was not what they wanted.”
You’re right.
“Matthews wasnt buying it.”
Broken clock and all that.
“And at the same time they were contradicting themselves by praising Obama for being brave. That is really laughable.”
It’s hypocracy at it’s very best (or worst).

Yeah, apparently it's "courageous" for Obama to take this position 4 years into his term, while running for re-election, after gay-rights activists in his liberal base threatened to withhold donations to him if he doesn't do their bidding. Real profile in courage. Almost as "courageous" as Zell Miller announcing he's "pro-life" AFTER he's retired from office so he won't actually have to vote on any of the legislation and won't have to worry about the rank and file Dems retaliating against him for going against the party line.
I was arguing with a liberal friend and asked if he thought it was "courageous" when Newt Gingrich promised his voters that he'd build a base on Mars if he's elected President. That's far more "progress" than NASA's ever had before. Still haven't gotten an answer on that one (of course he knows Newt was pandering to his voters on that one to get them excited about a "Gingrich presidency", just like Obama is doing for his base)

Your posts are the most pathetic I've seen here the past few years.
Obama thanks you
Yeah, Diogenesis, don't you know that principles, morals, and ethics are so passe'!
Forget about Romney's record of Progressive Liberalism that neatly matches much of Obama's record, Romney's got an 'R' next to his name, that's all that matters.
Meanwhile, Romney has done the following:
1. Illegally and unconstitutionally implemented Gay Marriage in MA.
2. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly even after his so-called Pro-Life conversion.
3. Implemented a regional Carbon Cap-and-Trade system.
4. Implemented a phony "Assault" Weapons Ban, because the only use for those weapons were to kill other people.
5. Implemented Socialized Medicine replete with a $50 dollar Abortion
6. Raised Taxes/Fees(A.K.A. as Taxes) by $700 million.
But don't you see, these issues don't matter because the documented, serial Liar Mitt Romney is now the GOP-E's choice for nominee for the Republican party.
Silly you thinking that the truth, principles, ethics, and morals had in any meaning or importance in our political process.

I am ABO as well. There are numerous candidates running in the general election against Obama and I haven't decided which one I'm voting for yet. But I can guarantee you that I will vote in November, and it won't be for Obama.
