What the ******?
ADA was supposed to be about REAL disabilities.
How the heck does a “bashful bladder” become a protected “disability”.
Are we sure this isn’t satire?
Who ever makes these rules is disabled, mentally.
The ADA is a government document, and as such it was written as a benefit for special interest groups. I’ve been in a wheelchair for 30+ years, and I’ve seen and heard abuses that makes it clear that the ADA hurts the disabled as much as it helps.it needs
to be thrown out and rewritten by disabled people, and not government lawyers.
As with all other “feel-good” policies implemented at a level of government way above where it should be,
the probability of corruption and abuse is 100%.
Take food stamps, for example. If the local church were managing a food bank and saw someone come in with new jewelry, cellphone, manicures, hairdo, etc, every week,
they might start to question the “needs” or maybe just the financial choices of the individual.
Can’t do that with some far off bureaucracy with perverse incentives to get as many people on the program as possible.
The ADA Act was hastily thrown together so Congress and Bush, Sr. could look caring. It was intentionally left vague with the understanding that it would be enforced by the courts. So, there you go.
