Palin backs Fischer for U.S. Senate
Omaha World-Herald ^ | May 9, 2012

Sarah Palin has picked sides in Nebraska's Republican U.S. Senate race. She's backing State Sen. Deb Fischer of Valentine.

The Fischer campaign announced the endorsement in a Wednesday morning press release that quoted a letter from Palin.

“We admire your conservative principles and know that you will not go to Washington to amass great wealth or power,” Palin wrote. “You will go to Washington to serve the people of Nebraska, protect our Constitution and work for common sense solutions to help restore America. We are happy to support you and have asked SarahPAC to send a financial contribution to your campaign.”

Fischer is running in the GOP Senate primary against Attorney General Jon Bruning and State Treasurer Don Stenberg.

Why couldn’t she pick someone in the presidential primaries?

Sarah goes "fishing" for a more conservative Senate.

HA! I slay me!

Go Sarah!

It will be interesting, as Palin doesn’t endorse candidates she doesn’t think can win. Yet Bruning has a lot of cash - as well as a lot of baggage. From the interview I saw, Fisher is pretty sharp, and as a Cornhusker native I’ve learned never to underestimate Nebraska farm (or ranch) gals.

Is there something bad about Bruning or Stenberg? Why did Sarah choose Deb versus these guys?

This is just some “spitballing”, and I may be wrong but this may be purposeful waiting...another smart move, imo, by Sarah...she has waited to give this endorsement in the final few days....

Sarah apparently has realized/learned that this will mobilize and highly motivate Tea Party sympathetic voters and give the opponents very little time to respond.

I would suppose by NOW the campaigns have a lot of things on their agenda scheduled tightly...and her endorsement throws a monkey wrench in the campaigns of those she opposes.

Did Sarah endorse Murdock (sp?) early on, or did she wait?

In August of 2011, the Omaha World-Herald reported that Bruning had purchased a lakeside house near the Platte River (valued at $675,000) in partnership with two Nelnet executives almost a year after he and his office had been accused of acting favorably toward the student loan company by not enforcing payment of a 1 million dollar judgment awarded to the State of Nebraska when Nelnet was under fire for alleged improper business practices.

Palin really does not like people who play the corrupt good old boys politics.

Her endorsements always do seem carefully timed for the most impact, and I think your reasoning explains why. She’s aware of how not just the liberal media, but also the GOP-e, would try to undermine her picks, to discredit not only her, but the whole Tea Party movement. She has to strike at just the right moment to help build momemtum for the nominee, before countering forces can effectively react.

She made it clear that Newt was her choice, she gave several informal endorsements of him and had Todd formally endorse him, and but the “Bloody Thursday” pile on in Florida took place before it was time for her to do a formal endorsement.

Nonsense, we have had to deal with that kind of nonsense from the romneybot crowd before, it doesn’t hold water.

Maybe, like many of us, she was not thrilled with any of them (although Todd endorsed Newt.

It is nice that Sarah is supporting her but this stops short of an endorsement, no? This is the campaign reading a letter of support. Wouldn’t an endorsement by Sarah have to come from Sarah’s mouth?

And perhaps, just possibly, oh I don’t know, it may have something to do with the other guy’s having shilled for Eric Holder’s nomination.

Perhaps, just possibly, that had more to with it than her gender.

Maybe.

Ya’ think?

I know that you are not a romneybot,I was pointing out that we have gone through all this nonsense attack stuff on Palin from them, I don’t know why you jumped on the anti-Palin, conservative woman bashing, band wagon.

I’m not anti-Palin at all, just observing that she is building a like-minded woman coalition. Nothing wrong with that.
