OK Jim, but how come you allow articles to be posted for no other reason than to just trash a belief that so many do believe in?? An attack on a religion, or a lack of religion, for no other reason except to trash it, IMHO, is very unamerican. Now, I understand, in the course of discussion, when religion comes up, it is acceptable, however, if someone started up a vile thread that was anti-christian, it wouldn't be tolerated by you or the moderators. There is a lot of religious hate being spewed here Jim , and I don't understand why you allow it.Land of the free, home of the brave, and the freedom to worship freely, or not. If you are defending, obliquely, Mormonism then the rejoinder is they call out all of Christendom as “Whores of Babylon”, Dark Religions, Apostates, Gracers, etc.

Like too many other veteran posters, I have gone silent and withdrawn from FreeRepublic. I have done so for the reasons quoted above, for the ban on positively discussing Presidential candidates, and for the generous "truce"/permission to discuss them again.

Despite my reluctance to rejoin conversation, I cannot leave a fine conservative veteran poster, like eastforker, left hanging alone.

This delight in religion bashing being advocated & viciously defended, is absolutely un-American. It has been allowed to go on way too long. Both those who engage in it, and those who allow it personally turn my stomach.
