Call me stupid, but it seems to me that if the scum defendants are provided earphone translators, but refuse to use them, they continue to be represented by their lawyers who understand English; thus they are properly represented by a person who understands the charges and the testimonies.
Proceed with the trial, and if necessary take out the trash that is interfering, as they are fully represented by English speaking lawyers. If they decide to quietly stay, or watch proceedings on a remote TV, fine!
(Somehow, I feel that the name Erik Holder will surface in the news within a few days.)
I’d put ‘em in isolation booths with translation feeds. If nothing else, it might help with the smell.
