Liz Cheney has been making the rounds at Wyoming political events this spring and her desire to move back to the state has Republicans from Cheyenne to Washington buzzing about a potential future campaign.
With little fanfare, Cheney, a former State Department official and the eldest daughter of the former vice president, has spoken at six events in different corners of the sprawling state this year. She has been especially busy on the GOP dinner circuit. Cheney has already hit four county Lincoln Day Dinners and keynoted the dinner following the Wyoming GOP convention last month. She also accompanied and appeared on stage with her father when he made his first public appearance following his heart transplant at the state convention.
But Wyoming politicos say local friends of Cheney are encouraging her to look at a run and helping her garner local press coverage by notifying Wyoming media outlets about her attendance at events. Few think she would be making stops in every corner of the state if she werent at least mulling a future run.
Shes running up a lot of asphalt, said Shawn Whitman, a Laramie native and former chief of staff for two Wyoming senators, of Cheneys schedule. This is planting seeds of thought in peoples minds. Theres nobody I know that goes to those events unless they have a position in the party or theyre trying to run for office.
The speculation in Wyoming is that she could launch a campaign as early as 2014, when Sen. Mike Enzis (R-Wyo.) term is up. Enzi, who will be 70 then, has not indicated whether hes running for re-election.

Yep, and she knows Rush Limbaugh well enough that he lets her operate the National Gasoline Price Control lever when she drops by his secret control room.
You are a silly little Troll. Go back to your master and report that you have failed in your mission.
I dislike nepotism and have seen it fail often.
However, Liz worked in the state department and has shown herself to be informed and articulate on government matters. Her mother, Lynne Cheney is also quite impressive and would certainly put the likes of Murkowski, Lincoln, McCaskill, Stabenow, Cantwell, Murray, Boxer, Snowe, & Collins to shame.
Something wished for many times in the past.
Nice photo raw...I love ‘em both.
lol, I bet she was at the helm ;)
Liz is awesome. Would it not be GREAT to see her in the U.S. Senate????
“Yes.. the report is fake but accurate.”
It’s as if she were on the submarine. And as if a submarine had taken out the levee. And as if . . .
Who are you to argue with artistic license?
isnt she the one who turns on the weather machine too?
As you have no answers for the truth I stated, as all liberals do, you immediately resort to the ad hominem fallacy.
It is you who failed in your mission because freepers see through non-arguments such as yours.
Nepotism is not exactly what we are talking about here.
Our country has moved from a republic of the people, by the people, and for the people staight back into being governed by a priveledged aristocracy that passes its positions of power down to its children by birthright like the very royalists we rebelled against 200 years ago.
Liz Cheney is the very archetype of what the American revolution opposed and what we have devolved into as a constitutional republic.
The tea party is opposed to this model of governance, yet it seems that you support it.
It's not nepotism if you're qualified. And Liz Cheney is qualified -- in spades.
Nepotism: Favoritism by those in high office to relatives or friends.
Liz Cheney is disqualified for office — in spades -— in these days and times.
What evidence do you have that Dick Cheney ever practiced nepotism?
Dick Cheney was meticulous in his public behavior --- never employing his position to the benefit of any family member. All of whom were expected to make their own way.
Recall that we're talking Cheneys here. Not Kennedys. Or Clintons.
It would be short-sighted to embrace a candidate simply because she was a former Veep's daughter.
At the same time, it would be pig-headed to reject a candidate who is eminently qualified for office simply because she is a former Veep's daughter.
“Recall that we’re talking Cheneys here. Not Kennedys. Or Clintons.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Yes, I am. I don't agree with the Cheney's, but at least I know where they really stand. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer the truth to lies.
You are an idiot. Go bother someone else.
Sorry you are unable to address the truth.
I agree..
Just because one member of a family has served admirably in government service is no reason to exclude another very qualified member of the same family from service.
We should support the best qualified, period.
Also the fact that she has an experienced patriot as a mentor would be a plus IMHO.
What are your credentials to speak for the tea party?
