There never was any other kind of wind at the gubernatorial level in Massachusetts.
What Mitt means by claiming to be “severely conservative” (compare his present platform to some known politicians and you can see it’s not literally so) is that “OK, I feel the wind and this time it’s blowing rightward. Hard. Look I’m bending over backwards (or my best imitation of it) for you guys.”
I can hear the desperation in the wheels spinning in your mind. I understand, but this is a man with almost NO core principles. He has a recorded legacy (no matter what political forces caused it to be) and he will not govern in direct opposition to everything he's done before.
I'm sorry, but people are flawed, and tend to assert their own rightness, even when it means choosing the most destructive direction. In practice, that means that Romney is the safest choice possible for the ruling class globalists. He will not rock the boat, because he's already sold his soul to them.
You're someone I respect on this board, and I have confidence that you've fully informed yourself about Mitt's real character and stance on issues and policy. I think you know in your gut that he's about the worst choice any conservative could make, if they honestly stand for our traditional American principles.
