Why I don't feel outraged?
Oh please. He’s just an engineering student that smoked some pot. All the most talented ones did when I was in school.
Everyone responsible should be locked in a cell just like him.
Because you ignored the part where they nearly killed him from dehydration? Because it's a crime you don't like?
But when they come for you, because you own a gun they don't like, I'll still go to bat for ya.
“Why I don’t feel outraged?” if you feel no outrage then you have no sense of history or understand due process. If a druggie, as you put it, can be held in this manner you or anyone else can be held in this manner. You may recall Martin Niemöller’s famous quotation:
“ First they came for the communists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade
unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.”
You may want to think about this before you so cavalierly dismiss this incident.
Because you are a leftist control freak.
Because you're a sociopath and Government is your religion.
“Why I don’t feel outraged?”
1.You’re a cop?
2. It wasn’t your family.
3. You don’t believe in the Constitution?
4. Don’t think it could happen to you, see 1.
5. Haven’t been reading about the Secret Service so you think the Feds hire top quality people.
6. Never talked to a former DEA agent?
People are sure giving you some hell. I know you better than that, so I was polite. But yeah you blew this one. :)
You don’t feel outraged because the constitution as written obviously means little to nothing to you...
So, if you were to be locked up in the future and “forgotten” about because you owned an “illegal” (in the eyes of an unconstitutional law, not the Constitution) firearm or had gotten into a minor altercation, would that be acceptable to you?
After all, you’ve already established that you do think it acceptable for a government body to lock up and “forget” about a citizen for several days without due process. Surely you wouldn’t object if it were you.
Why don’t you feel outraged? Because there’s something wrong with you ? Something broken inside?
Probably...
“Why I don’t feel outraged?”
I guess because your government torturing its citizens on your behalf is not outrageous to you? Or maybe not outrageous, so long as they are citizens that you deem less worthy of constitutional protections than others?
