Nice work, Obamsky. Let's see if the fisherman and their families remember you at election time.

What’s a few hundred more unemployed? Not even a drop in the sea of millions. Besides, it’s for the environment. The greenies have been trying to get rid of gill nets for decades anyhow.

They've been giving New England fishermen a hard time for years. Still, the fools vote 'rat.

I hope that this blows up in Obama’s face and that it backfires on his party as well.

Remember the Spotted Owl? It killed logging and helped destroy a vibrant fishery. Now they are trying to take 200,000 acres more timberland out of the Western Washington Working Forests. We’re fighting back.
Obama likes to spread the pain. He’s got the medical marijuana folks here on the West Coast, a huge support group, furious calling for his departure. He’s burning his supporters like a Cocaine soaked blunt. Makes me damn happy, not at the pain, but the education folks are getting.

NOAA, right? National Oceans & Atmospheric Administration?
In Santa Cruz Calif NOAA is handing out $2500 tickets to anyone using a jet-ski to rescue someone who is starting to drown in surf.
Sounds made up? They’ve done it a bunch of times.
They say the jet-skis are a danger to otters.
In 20-foot waves? REALLY?

But to keep the population healthy, the Marine Mammal Protection Act allows only a certain number of porpoises to be accidentally caught and killed annually.
Right now, the annual nationwide limit is 703, and the law requires regulators to bring the average down to a tenth of that, about 70 deaths annually, said David Gouveia, the marine mammal program coordinator the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Northeast office.
But federal researchers say 883 porpoises were snared on average annually between 2005 and 2009, the most recent years numbers are [not?]

Won’t matter if all the fisherman vote against Zero. Maine and Mass will be solidly in Zero’s corner.

Shutting them down one month before the election. They’re out of work which will hurt their families and the local economy. Maine seafood prices will soar, hurting everyone.

observers found pingers working properly on only 41 percent of observed haulsIf this were really about saving porpoises then the fishermen with properly functioning "pingers" would still be allowed to fish. This smells of some other agenda.
