Scottish police forces have been told not to accept a gift of free Bibles from the Gideons because the book condemns homosexuality.
The Bibles have been offered to Scottish police forces featuring each forces badge.
But the Gay Police Association (GPA) is against the move, and has issued a statement demanding that the forces refuse to be involved. Untrue
In the past, the GPA has been in trouble with the authorities for making untruthful and misleading claims involving the Bible.
In 2006 the group was reprimanded for producing an ad featuring the Bible next to a pool of blood with the headline in the name of the father.
The ad blamed religion, focusing in particular on Christianity, for violent attacks against homosexuals.
But the Advertising Standards Authority ruled that the ad was untrue, indecent and unsubstantiated. Guide
Trade union UNISON has joined with the GPA in opposing the offer of free Bibles for Scottish police forces.
Gideons say they want to offer Scottish police the Bibles as a valuable guide to life.
The group said they can be offered to all members of the individual force, both serving police officers and civilian staff. Concern
But the GPA said in a statement: Members of the GPA have contacted us expressing concern that their Force is officially endorsing a religious book containing text which condemns homosexuality.
It added: The GPA does not feel that a public service, such as the police, should be seen to be endorsing, by their active involvement, any particular religion over and above any other religion or non-religion.
The GPA said if the Bibles were to be offered, surely this can be done without the actual involvement of the police force concerned. Reject
UNISON commented: It is not the role of a Police Force either to provide official endorsement of any religion or foist religious views on its staff.
The trade union added that it hoped police forces in Scotland would reject the offer.
Concise and accurate.
Crazy. It condemns divorce as well but that’s never stopped everyone from getting on with things.
Homos are Biblephobic,too. Also, Procrate-o-phobes, Anamoly-o-phobic,and vagina-o-phobic.
That’s just a fantasy. Just look to the once Christian middle East. Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco etc... All those countries were once firmly Christian. And now the few surviving Christians are just tiny minorities.
When the West falls Christianity will dwindle to a mere handful on the global scale.
This would be the largest police association in this country if they establish a base here.
So have the police been told the koran is homophobic also?
It will be like the Roman government persecuting early Christians, except this time alot of Christians are armed to the hilt.
Suggest Twitter 4 Christian Defense Leagues, Use Churches as Coordination Centers, a civic reason to invite neighbors 2 Church. Onward Christian Soldiers!
Just thinking out loud... ;^)
This is logical. You can embrace sodomy or embrace Christ; you can’t do both.
Can’t’ be. They are made from wood...
actually it is almost certainly because muslims actually DO something when their religion is criticized.
We are headed in that direction it seems
One of the reasons to support the house church and unregistered church movement.
Indeed. They and we desperately need another John Knox.
Because they know what will happen to them if they anger the Mohammedans.
Thank you for your post. It’s very encouraging in these dark times for the West.
Indeed. In one sense, I’m glad to see this group doesn’t try to pull that “David and Jonathan were lovers” or “Ruth and Naomi were lesbians” type garbage. That know very well where the Bible stands on what marriage is and what sexuality is for.
Thank you.
I remember when my wife (who at the time was a friend who I was trying to talk into dating me) told me that she attended a small Presbyterian church in Seoul.
When I learned that her church had three balconies and was routinely attended by a little less than a thousand people, but was considered small compared to many others in her city, it immediately became obvious to me that I needed to spend a lot more time learning about the Korean church.
Similar things could be said about Anglicanism in most though not all of Africa.
God is not mocked, but church history shows that He regularly raises up weak and despised groups to do His work when those who should be doing His work won’t do so.
Believing in the sovereignty of God gives me confidence in His rule even when the state of the church around me gives me positive proof of total depravity. Of course, that duality is nothing new in Reformed Christianity. It’s something with which John Knox would have fully agreed, likely with fiery pulpit-pounding about the wretched wickedness of Scotsmen for rejecting the faith once delivered to the saints.
There are a few countries left in Europe who are still fighting the new perverted world order, but not too many.

Each individual police officer should have the right to accept or not accept a Bible. Horrible.
