Gambian President: We would ‘rather eat grass’ than accept homosexual behavior

LUSAKA, April 27, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In the face of U.S. threats to cut off foreign aid, President Yahya Jammeh defended Gambian laws banning homosexual behavior in comments to the country’s National Assembly last Friday.

“If you want us to be ungodly for you to give us aid, take your aid away, we will survive,” said Jammeh, in comments that were reported by the Daily Observer. “We will rather eat grass than accept this ungodly evil attitude that is anti-God, anti-human and anti-creation.”

The country’s stance against homosexual behavior has come under increased scrutiny after President Obama announced in December that the U.S. would look at how accepting a country was of homosexuality when considering foreign aid allocation.

On the same day that the Administration’s new policy was announced, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton declared that gay rights and human rights were “one and the same” in a speech before the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

British Prime Minister David Cameron had made a similar statement in October of 2011, threatening to reduce or cut off aid to African countries that prosecuted homosexual acts or did not permit gay “marriage.”

Reactions to the threats have varied in African countries with anti-sodomy laws. In Malawi, where the country’s first openly gay couple was sentenced to fourteen years of hard labor after holding an “engagement” ceremony, officials had pledged to reconsider the ban within days of the Obama Administration’s announcement. Religious and political leaders in other African countries have blasted the decision, however.

According to President Jammeh, the Gambian law is enduring because it is rooted in the country’s culture and religion. Acceptance of homosexual acts would compromise the nation’s dignity and “insult God,” he said. The country is predominately Muslim, but is also home to many Christians.

He noted that Gambia had lost many of its traditional practices to the influence of western culture, but said that this was an issue where the country would stand firm.

“We lost our traditional head scarf for a necktie, but we will not lose our humanity for the so-called human rights,” he said. “We will respect human rights where a human being behaves like a human being.”

He added: “Let me make it very clear that if you want me to offend God for you to give me aid, you are making a great mistake. You will not bribe me to do what is evil and ungodly.”

Jammeh has taken a hard line against homosexual behavior during his four terms in office as President of Gambia. He has received criticism for threatening overly harsh penalties for homosexual acts, including advocating the death penalty. According to the U.S. Department of State, this threat was never translated into law, and current penalties do not include execution.

I am very glad someone is finally standing up to this part of our foreign aid. It has been going on since the Nixon administration.

Sounds like our own Jim Robinson! Hooray for godly leaders!

Jammeh is a Muslim (he converted from Christianity) with two wives. He vowed to make laws regarding homosexuality "stricter than those in Iran." He wants gays beheaded. Hardly a godly leader.

BREAKING NEWS!

Homosexual in the White House uses taxpayer money to force acceptance of his homosexualism on others.

Gay rights aside, Foreign Aid has had a toxic effect on the recepient nations promoting corruption and indolence; so Gambia may dodge a bullet and derive real dividends simply by taking a moral stand in opposition to Obama.

The real reason Nebuchadnezzar ate grass is finally revealed: he was homophobic.

Stuff like this makes me wonder how much longer God will continue to bless this nation.

As regards the acceptance of what is foul for political or monetary expedience I stand by my statement. It is always godly to maintain one’s righteous convictions even in the face of great personal risk. It is never godly to abandon God’s commands for the sake of personal political or financial gain.

It is always godly to maintain one’s righteous convictions even in the face of great personal risk.

The danger is believing your convictions are righteous because they are your convictions and believing that holding to them is godly when it may be nothing more than stubbornness and believing that the great personal risk into which it puts you is, in and of itself, evidence of their godliness and righteousness:

"There is a way that seemeth right to a man but the end thereof is death."

Hello. Where is the “danger” in abhorring homosexuality as God the Creator abhors it?

Homosexuality ought to be shunned everywhere on earth at all times.

LUSAKA, April 27, 2012 “

Huh?
Lusaka is the capital of the ZAMBIA(formerly known as Northern Rhodesia), which is in southern Africa, not Gambia, which is a tiny country in West Africa. I think the author of the article is confusing the two countries. Their names may be separated by only one letter(Z or G), but they two countries are totally different.
Back on point, of course the Gambian president is right to tell 0bozo and his gay mafia vermin to go take a jump.

They may very well be better off in the long run for not taking aid money.

If the U.S. would simply restrict its attention to protecting the human right of homosexuals (as of all persons) to a degree of privacy, and not try to push the homosexual agenda, it might be persuasive. No, homosexuals should not be hung for acts done in private with other consenting adults. But, as to whether homosexuality is taught in the schools, banned from public displays, entitled to recognition as marriage, etc., this is not for the corrupt west to impose on the other countries of the world.

The United States foreign policy has been a disaster for decades.

Forcing South Africa to turn that nation over to an evil Communist regime was patently stupid and totally unfair. Joining the UN in banning DDT was another large mistake. The Gorebal Warming fiasco is an unbelievable lie that the current ‘leaders’ endorse.

There is so much more, but placing the sinful homosexuals on a pedestal to be a gaggle honored is simply the most wrong-headed attempt at ‘policy’ ever conceived by man.

What sane person would think that placing one’s penis up another’s anus is another of God’s Plans? These perverts wonder why AIDS and other assorted diseases is visited upon them? After all, they’re just in love with someone and since that someone hasn’t a vagina on him there are other orifices to explore.

Then there’s the practice of cleaning the partner’s dipstick thereby ingesting fecal matter as well as shoving one’s mouth up the other’s anus.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Checking out the history of serial killers we find the very large majority of these multiple murders are committed by committed homosexuals.

Does that person in the White Hut smoke after sex?

Good question for a press conference which are utterly worthless at any rate.

His answer would probably be: “I never looked.”
