New Secret Service rules on alcohol, unsavory bars
By ALICIA A. CALDWELL and LAURIE KELLMAN | Associated Press 20 mins ago
WASHINGTON (AP) Seeking to shake the disgrace of a prostitution scandal, the Secret Service late Friday tightened conduct rules for its agents to prohibit them from drinking excessively, visiting disreputable establishments while traveling or bringing foreigners to their hotel rooms.
The new behavior policies apply to Secret Service agents even when they are off duty while traveling, barring them from drinking alcohol within 10 hours of working, according to a memorandum describing the changes obtained by The Associated Press. In some cases under the new rules, chaperones will accompany agents on trips. The embattled Secret Service director, Mark Sullivan, urged agents and other employees to "consider your conduct through the lens of the past several weeks."
The Secret Service said it would conduct a training session on ethics next week.
Sullivan said the rules "cannot address every situation that our employees will face as we execute our dual-missions throughout the world." He added: "The absence of a specific, published standard of conduct covering an act or behavior does not mean that the act is condoned, is permissible, or will not call for and result in corrective or disciplinary action."

As is always usual in these cases the bosses get promotions!
Never, EVER went to a savory bar in my life ... never.
The Secret Service will have chaperones? That’s gonna put a crimp in the old prom.
Because they, as we all know, are children.
Common sense and integrity is not something you train for... you either have it or you don’t.
Common sense is defined by Merriam-Webster as, “sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts.”
Perhaps it’s just me, but I would have thought that might have been a job prerequisite.
“The new behavior policies apply to Secret Service agents even when they are off duty while traveling, barring them from drinking alcohol within 10 hours of working...”
That should solve everything and protect the president. As a secret service mercenary in the gig for fat weekly paychecks and a huge retirement bonus, I can hit the bimbo bars from 4 pm until 10 pm, get drunk on my azz and report for duty at 8am.
Back when Barry was on his Canadian built bus tour last summer, one of his SS guys got an off-duty OWI bust in Decorah, Iowa...
If you feel that you have to drink and visit unsavory bars, stay on the WH grounds.
ONLY THEORIZING HERE: If al Qaeda or al Shabaab or Abu Sayyef were brilliant, they would now, outside of safe houses if under observation, have their operational planning sessions in VIP rooms, etc. in sordid strip joints and seedy whorehouses then, throughout Asia and Europe, Africa, Latin America (which they do anyways--i.e. the 19 in Maryland before 9-11, or they could do--allowed to do so by any radical imam's taqiyya-based fatwa's for the greater "jihad good") if they ever wanted to activate a cell to do damage to a visiting high level VIP team or CODEL (Congressional delegation). The USG has just said, and made public, an area or areas of safe haven for foreign threats.
Just like the TSA is run (an international joke in the eyes of their security colleagues around the world) these stupid federal bureaucrats living in a bubble don't think things out, they haven't played chess or read Sun Tzu a day in their lives. I guess next they will forbid the CIA or FBI from monitoring these places...
It’s not the Secret Service’s job to conduct law enforcement operations in foreign countries. If intelligence was gathered that there was a possible threat to the POTUS (or anyone else under SS protection), they would inform their own agents of the threat and alert the government of the country in which they were visiting.
The Secret Service wouldn’t go on a thunder run to kick in doors in someone else’s country—that’s not their job.
Well...yeah! What would be the purpose?
Those chaperones are usually called commissars.

Yes, from the ‘movies’, the USSR and German Subs all had at least one ‘party member’ as part of the crew.
You know, the S/A on a Uboat that insisted on a few “Heils” per watch and basically spied on the crew.
Kurt Jurgens “The Enemy Below” ‘solved’ that fanatics whimseys by placing his towel over the swastika
Of course when they had to shoot old laundry and ‘dead’ crewmen out the tubes to ‘fool’ the enemy, the ‘party’ man was more than likely 1st choice amongst the crew...etc...
This is gonna really piz some people off. LOL
Who drinks a beer with their pinky out?
