Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, released a statement Friday attacking President Obama for what was described in a press release as the president's "decision to play politics with the one year anniversary of Osama bin Laden's death."
"Shame on Barack Obama for diminishing the memory of September 11th and the killing of Osama bin Laden by turning it into a cheap political attack ad," McCain said. "This is the same President who once criticized Hillary Clinton for invoking bin Laden 'to score political points.'"

UPDATE: Mitt Romney's campaign responds with this statement from press secretary Andrea Saul: “The killing of Osama bin Laden was a momentous day for all Americans and the world, and Governor Romney congratulated the military, our intelligence agencies, and the President. It's now sad to see the Obama campaign seek to use an event that unified our country to once again divide us, in order to try to distract voters' attention from the failures of his administration. With 23 million Americans struggling for work, our national debt soaring, and household budgets being squeezed like never before, Mitt Romney is focused on strengthening America at home and abroad.”
I heard Osama was unarmed and carrying a bag of “Skillets candy” when Obama shot him.
So Romney is saying, in effect, that since Obama did it, I’m going to take this chance to do the same thing.
McCain: underminer of the Tea Party, who among other things compared them to Hobbits as he consistently reaches across the aisle and trashes conservatives along the way.
I always find it funny when politicians admit it’s a bad thing to “politicize.” It’s like if bankers were to accuse eachother of “banking” an issue.
That McCain sure is on top of it. Isn’t he?

I recall how the Republicans feared even mentioning 9/11 in election 2004 -- if anyone dared to mention 9/11 the MSM, Democratic Party-controlled survivors of 9/11, the DNC and all sorts went ballistic screaming that it is not right for the Republicans to mention anything about 9/11.
I was wondering why Time had a story about Bin Laden on the cover for no honest reason.

No Romney is rightly laughing at Obama’s transparent attempt to deflect from his many economic failures.
Obama is desperate to tout his one singular success, a success more of the CIA and Seals and very little to do with Obama’s own decision-making skills.
